    rebuilding an alt

Not really true. Diodes, like most electronic components are degraded by heat, corrosion, thermal cycling, mechanical stress and applied voltage. They are very reliable compared to moving parts, but still can “wear out” after years of use.

    Which transmission.

My 85 d150 came with a 727 stock and original. It's the Lowest gvw version they made, definitely nothing "heavy duty" about this one...

Why are classic 4 door sedans "disliked"?

I've never heard that, but considering my emotions and feelings with the different vehicles I drive, I get it. Thanks!

    User Moparofficial not responding..

I've had "Mopar official" on ignore for a long time now, occasionally I "show ignored content" and remember why.... though I don't currently. I have no stake in whatever parts he sells or advertises, didn't see the ad or the part.

    Quarter Mile Gear Selection

No matter what gear you decide, the torque converter will play a key factor on what your trap RPM will be. Just be prepared to make potential changes after the car gets going down the track and you get usable data to work from. Whose converter are you using? I know you said 5,000 stall but I’m...

Why are classic 4 door sedans "disliked"?

Our biggest issue was that we did not have the market size to make many 2 doors as with mine it is a dart from the windscreen back that were brought in as CKD kits for assembly and only because GMH built a 2 door the year prior and had success with sales, then it took until 1972 for Ford to...

@4.7Light I may have already asked, but where are you located? I would love to check this out in person. I have been wanting to put an 8HP in my 76 D100 since learning there were swap options.

How do those temps look for a 4 day race weekend

Probably not in my future. My racing radius has pretty much been shortened to 200 miles. Heck I can’t even remember what year my last out of state Mopar race was.

That fan blade is not properly placed in the shroud. The blades should be half way into the opening.

    1966 Plymouth Valiant

I’d love to say I made some progress but I’ve had other priorities, see my minivan is the greatest vehicle ever made thread! I am slowly making a “Vali-cuda” because it’ll be cool to see a 1966 never made Barracuda convertible. It will be very patina’d and rat roddy. While I do other things...

    Trans brake reactions

I have considered the glide on oh so so many occasions especially since I’m a dedicated bracket racer. Just never pulled the trigger for the main reason of what it would cost to swap plus the modifications I need, and the fear of not being happy. I would certainly expect to need less delay...
