    Tale of two 72' Demons

Well I can't say it was without a challange but its on the rotisserie finally tonight. It works pretty good for a home jobby. I added some spring bolts for extra security and I'll need to try and locate some better rubber probably if I'm going to be pulling it in and out for blasting and stuff...

pm me your email and I'll send you pics of what I have. We can work something out on the rotisserie if you want to trade for some body work when the time comes. I plan on doing my own paint. I think paint would be easier than body work. :D cheers

    Tale of two 72' Demons

I'm gonna do it as money & time allows. I don't have a backround in autobody and this is my first project of this sorts. I am a welder by trade though and used to build service bodies for a few years in Edmonton. That should help in that department. Motors ready, I have a 727 rebuilt auto that I...

Thx Randy, and same to you. I meant to shoot you a message when I first saw your car. Hope its coming along well for you. I'm just getting started as you may have read in my post. I'm no longer in Edmonton but not too far, just up in Athabasca County. Yes the Orange one was on Kijiji originally...

    Workbench ideas?

Newf - I would like to see a pic of your angle grinder holder... Surely it cannot be as cheap as my cordless drill holder! I'll shoot that side of the shop next. C Sure thing. Just cut off the 1.5'' side of the square and bent it in a vise. no patent pending lol. I also want to rig this up...

    Tale of two 72' Demons

It is time! It only took me just over one year since I picked up the first Demon. A new job and a move that required moving two car bodies on castors was kind of a set back but then again I think it all happened according to plan. Now I have the space to do it. In town was kinda crampin my...

    Workbench ideas?

Great Bench! Love the look of your shop as well. I went pretty plain with 1 4X8 sheet of 3/4 MDF cut in half to double it up and make it 1.5''. I put it on top of my toolchest and built legs on one end. I left 2'' stick out on the front for clamping and about 6-8 inches on left side for a small...

How to organize a tool box

I like the peg board and wall boards myself. I just got this place organized this weekend unpacking since Dec.10th, 2 months to organize 2 days and won't find a thing lol. As far as the drawers go, hammers together, air tools together, sockets together and so on and so forth. I just try and...

    Air compressor set ups

Hydraulic will work, but even better if you can find a local air line/hose fitting center they can make you up a custom length for your setup. I went with a copper coil on the wall spaced one inch and also left the compressor on the pallet. If you go with copper you need to use the right type...

    Tale of two 72' Demons

Thx MD, I'll be picking your brain forsure when It comes time to build the paint booth, budgets out the window after having the engine built so I'll need to learn fast in the autobody 101 class. lol. I love your car man, you did such a great job when I go back and look at your starting pics...

''I'm going to fix it up someday'' The resurrection of a '74 Dart Sport......

I love your story and i'm very glad that you decided to share it on this site. Being a mid 70's born kid who grew up without a vehicle of any kind I can only imagine what it must have been like by hearing stories like yours and from others posted on sites like these. That being said I am about...

    Tale of two 72' Demons

Thanks, me and the wife got what we wanted with this place. Last one had an attached garage which would have worked but a little more freedom with this place and I can make more noise with no neighbors lol. I like your 71' Demon by the way.

    Tale of two 72' Demons

So I have most of my stuff unpacked, I had to make an executive decision and set up the compressor in the main shop until it warms up and I can figure out where in the bunkhouse it would fit best. At least this way I can get going on the car. I do have a few mods on the rotisserie which I'll...

    Tale of two 72' Demons

I hear ya on the Chilly Bro! We are about the same here. Hard to get out and get going in the shop this time of year. I'm using propane and a 125K BTU heater with a 100lb tank to warm it up until I can get gas plumbed sometime in the spring/summer. It will happen eventually. I did however unpack...

I just had a Stroker built out of a 72' 340 and my block was standard bore, they went .03 over and I don't think they did a sonic on it. I think as long as you aren't going .6 over you should be fine IMHO. Cheers and good luck. I love strokers!

    Tale of two 72' Demons

Thanks Rod, I never did make it down to see your Demon. Looking forward to it though. Now I'm up in Athabasca County which is a little further away but if you are ever in the neighbourhood drop by and check out the place. I'm on 12.5 acres, with a 28X26.5 detached garage wired with 220 which...

    Tale of two 72' Demons

Thanks, and yes the orange one will be the donor. The new job is 4-10's which will allow me to have a little more "me" time lol, still have to divide it up with the wife and kids though. I spent the money I was going to have the car blasted with on a 60 gal 3 cylinder compressor and picked up a...

    Tale of two 72' Demons

Hi all, Sorry for the big delay on the project, Lots has happened in my life in the past 6 months so I'll keep it short but sweet. I moved and changed jobs which totally set me back on the restoration but with more land and a bigger shop I'll be getting going on it very soon! I also located a...

    Looking at a 71' Demon

So I guess I used the wrong terminology when I said I was going to Re-body the first car onto the second as I found out that is illegal. What I'm going to do because I don't have a matching numbers engine is basically put the better options on the Column 340 Demon. Just for clarification. Cheers

    Tale of two 72' Demons

I gotta admit the body style has sure grown on me since I picked the first one up. Its a shame that one has to be a donor, but better that than a block of scrap I guess. Its a match made in Fort Saskatchewan! lol.
