Did you have to hone the holes out in the Magnum bolt pattern to get the plugs knocked in? I bought one of those intakes a while back when someone had them on sale cheap. I noticed that the plugs seemed to be too big for the holes, is why I asked. You did a good job on the paint...

Yep, on the 273 that I just built for my 65 Barracuda, I had to work the top of the intake runners over pretty good so the valve covers would fit right. My valve covers weren't even close to fitting because the block was decked to get it square, plus the heads were cut a good bit too because...

Check to see if your valve covers still fit with the new intake before you paint it. You may have to clearance one or the other.

I'm pretty sure @memike made a heat shield for his master cylinder on Victoria. Maybe he will chime in with a pic.

I've had good luck out of the Edelbrock double roller chains. I replaced the fuel pump gasket on my 360 in the 71 Challenger, and checked the chain while the pump was out. Has about 10K miles on it since it went in in 95....still tight. Motor has the Mopar Performance 761 cam in it and gets the...

Factory intake bolts all have captive washers on them and are all the same length. Just a bit shorter than 2". If you're buying new bolts, just get some that are 1 3/4 not counting the bolt head and use flat washers on them. Use thread sealer on every bolt! Every one of them thread into areas...

Unless you need adjustable rocker arms, why not swap them to a factory non adjustable rocker setup and forget it? Save the 273 adjustable stuff for later on if you build something with a solid cam.

You can take that adapter off the top of the solenoid and bolt your wire straight up there if the starter you got is like all that I've seen. I'm sorry that I steered you wrong and got your hopes up on the Hemi starter. It ain't gonna fit my 273 either, because my block has that same curve in...

Well, shoot! I was hoping the Hemi starter would fit and work. I need to go look at my 273 block and see if it has that same curved place in it. Hopefully you can make that Magnum starter live happy in the space. :thumbsup:

I went out and looked at one of my small block bellhousings and the top hole for the starter is a blind hole. And, like you said, it goes back into the area where the Z bar bracket bolts to the bell. If the top bolt hole in the hemi starter is the one that needs to be drilled out.....I'll drill...

Hope it works out. As long as you've got room on the backside of the bellhousing for a bolt head, you could drill it out to the same size as the unthreaded hole in the starter and put the bolt in bassakwards from what it's always been. I may do that to my bellhousing on my Barracuda as well. I...

That's strange, since a starter off a 727 and a 833 bellhousing will interchange.

It's supposed to work in a small block bellhousing/727/904, so it should fit a big block the same way. The only mod you supposedly have to make is drilling out one mount hole on the starter. One of the mount bolts on it has a bolt that comes in from the rear on it's stock Gen 3 Hemi...

I saw one of his videos a while back, where he said they had stopped regrinding cams and resurfacing lifters. The whole flat tappet cam and lifter debacle was taking so much shop time that they weren't keeping up with their other work like they needed to. I've heard they are a good shop...
