For Those Who Have Purchased a "Non-Running" Mopar/Other

Not a real purchase, but my first car was a hand-me-down '81 Mercury Zephyr with a straight six (junk with constant vacuum leaks, but that's a different subject). After I moved out of state and drove it for years my parents took it back and let it sit, then they couldn't start it. My dad and...

3700 GT on CL (not mine)

...know the seller - in fact, I've never seen one of these or even heard of one before, but a quick Google search shows it to be a Spanish version of a Dart, so I thought I'd post it here to see if anyone knows more about these cars: *VERY RARE* Spanish Dodge 3700 GT - cars & trucks - by owner -...

Not all new country music sucks.

I'm not much into country music other than Johnny Cash, but Austin's a friend of mine so I figured I'd post one of his latest and see what y'all think:

    Pickup trucks

I bought an '87 D250 318/auto long bed 2wd standard cab a couple years ago, I was making a lot of 180-mile round trips hauling furniture and stuff at the time so it was pretty good for that. These days I hardly ever use it though, so I may get rid of it (it's a beater, nothing nice).

Pipe dream motor swap: What would you bolt into your A-Body?

Keith Black aluminum street hemi (power-to-weight ratio, hemi cool factor, and KB hemi's were THE engine back in the 70's and early 80's when I first got into cars as a kid).

So....What is YOUR opinion on VIN swaps ?

There are exceptions for certain circumstances, but it looks like knowingly altering a VIN, possessing a vehicle with an altered VIN, and even buying/selling a vehicle without a title is criminal here in Virginia - here are a few links for reference: § 46.2-1074. Removing or altering serial or...

    to sell or keep

My '72 was my daily driver for a year about 15 years ago. It's lived in my garage since then - marriage, kids, jobs, etc. have made it a back-burner project for a long time. Yesterday I took the dead battery to the parts store, bought a new one, stuck it in and said "I know I shouldn't even...

Mopar Heads ~ 'The Best Chevy Street Performer You Ever Owned'

I had an '87 Chevy Celebrity that was a hand-me-down from my parents - first, last, and only Chevy I ever owned. It had the 2.5L four banger, lost the cam gear cruising the interstate at about 70mph, completely trashed the engine internally when that happened (bent valves, pushrods, hole in a...

Who else have problem with whitepunkonnitro?

I've bought two things from Tony, one was exactly as described, the other was in better condition than I expected. Judging by what I've read here it's all being handled, even if feathers got ruffled in the process.

Yeah, I like that they emphasize safety & reliability first, and at the end of each project they tell you how much time & money went into it.

Which car should get the garage?

I agree with put up a car port, add-on, bigger garage - whatever you can afford and have room to do. I've got pretty much the same problem - my Swinger and my Challenger are taking up all the space in my garage and there's no room to work on either one of them.

    who is into "later" cars

I picked up a '73 Swinger parts car - the main body shell is horrible with rust through, but the front clip isn't bad at all. Ever since I got it the beak is growing on me...I keep debating trying to use the front fenders on my '72 (yeah, I know they won't fit as-is) just for the longer...

Married guys - car budgets and honesty

My wife & I both work, and we each have our own checking & savings, but they're all joint accounts. We're both responsible with money and she's supportive of my car hobby, and I've been willing to put restoring my '72 on the back burner for other priorities...like paying off the Hemi Challenger...

    FABO Age range?

My '72 is not quite a full year younger than me, I've had it since 2001 or so but I'm just starting to get serious about working on it (lack of time & funds, the usual stuff).

WTB Slant 6 power steering bracket

Checked mine on the '73, it looks like it's the same type of pump but the bracket is a little different (seems to have an extra tab with an unused bolt hole). I attached a couple pics, sorry for the poor quality.

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Finally got around to pulling the front valance, bumper, and grill off my Swinger. The bad news is that pretty much everything is in worse shape (dents, cracks, etc.) than I thought it was, and one of the body screws broke off and I'll have to drill it out. The good news is the rust isn't too...

Carbon Fiber Mopar Parts... What Would You Like to See?

It'd probably be too big & complex, but if you want a hardcore project that seriously tests rigidity etc. - make a full body tub like Ferrari did: http://blog.caranddriver.com/ferrari-debuts-carbon-fiber-tub-for-enzo-replacement-we-go-in-depth-2012-paris-auto-show/ Might be more realistic to...

Mopar Rally wheels or Cragar SS

Didn't have any pics, but I just took some in the garage. The car and wheels are unrestored former daily drivers (aka beaters), I don't have any center caps on right now (I have some, there just not on the car because the ones that fit don't match, and the ones that match don't fit), and my...

Mopar Rally wheels or Cragar SS

FWIW, I've got SBP Keystones on my '72 Dart, but they're a vintage set I got off Craigslist. The rears are 14x7" and IIRC they've got 245/60R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's on them (came with the wheels - the prior owner had them on a Duster). They do clear the stock fender well on the '72, but...

    My nephew the brony

Video gaming is a multibillion dollar industry worldwide, there's tons of money that can be made there. But using someone else's intellectual property pretty much guarantees he can't be doing it for profit - he'd have to get permission from the owners of the copyrights/trademarks, or go to work...

    Shipping a Bumper

Check with the shipping service about their rules and extra charges. I used to work for UPS part-time, my job was checking for anything with exposed metal, and packages that were oversize, overweight, or underweight. That was around 20 years ago, so I don't know what the rules are now. FWIW...

    POLL: Pretty vs Functional

The first car I bought myself was a mistake - it looked good, but it was in terrible shape in reality, but I learned a lot from the experience. The prior owner did things like put on aluminum rims and new wheels, but they didn't fit properly and ended up causing warped brake drums (which ruined...

Should I swap '72 sbp discs to '73 bbp discs?

Thanks for the replies - I really don't want to swap if it's not going to give me any performance difference.

Should I swap '72 sbp discs to '73 bbp discs?

My '72 Swinger has the small bolt pattern power front discs/rear drums, and I got a vintage set of Keystone Klassics for it that I'd like to use. But I also recently bought a '73 Swinger parts car that has the big bolt pattern power front discs/rear drums. Are there safety/performance reasons...
