Magnum Swap balancer w/LA timing cover. Marks?

Mine lined up with the marks on the cover. I went through the trouble to degree it and it was dead on.

Leaking issues in my 200 4R - any gurus available?

Do you run a sealed dipstick? I started having trouble with pushing fluid out of the seals when I installed one in my car.

High-zinc oil or ZDDP oil additives?

It's very easy to overthink this stuff. For your engine, I would run plain old Rotella T 15w40 and not ever worry about an oil related engine failure. Are there better oils out there? Sure there are, but Rotella is a dang good lol too. Ofher benefits are its price ($12-14 per gallon) and you...

    Performer rpm or M-1 intake

A couple years ago when my car still had the 360 I was going to do a turbo setup so I swapped my RPM Airgap for an M1 single plane. Big mistake. The car lost 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile I could never recover, no matter what kind of tuning I did. The loss of torque was noticeable even on the...

Here's a good read about LSA. I know it's not Mopar but I believe this information also applies. The author is very well known and respected cam expert in the LSx community. http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/1738022-why-lsa-doesn-t-matter.html

    FiTech EFI system

I've been keeping an eye on this thread because the system looks promising. It would be a good option for the Valian wagon. While searching around, comparing to other systems, I stumbled on this. I wonder if they sold out to Holley, because it's the same exact thing...

    Supercharged or Stroked 360

I wouldn't have any issues running 450whp on stock internals. That motor should easily handle that. Stock SBM internals aren't weak, guys have been spinning them high rpms and with power adders for decades. They're proven. Get a good tuneup in it and it'll live a long life at 450whp.

    Supercharged or Stroked 360

I don't know about you guys, but if I saw a 408 stroker or blown 360 and it only made 400whp I'd be none too impressed. Not trying to insult anybody, but a well thought out 360 would meet that goal easily, IMO. How about a stock stroke 360 in the 10-10.5:1 compression range, roller cam upgrade...

    750 cfm carb on a 318

Large jet sizes are an indicator the carb is too big. If you're way above what the carb came with originally (factory jetting) then the carb you have is already a little big. Not saying you can't run a 750, but I'd stick with a vacuum secondary unit since they tend to "size" themselves to the...

    Stock Block series

Congrats on the runner up. Sounds like a fun series. Wish I could run it. A little heads up about any of the LS powered competitors you may come across. Unless they're running an LS1 or early 4.8 or 5.3 (2005-older) they are likely breaking the 200cc head rule. Common legal head castings...

    Which Wideband???

Well that would have been helpful to know, haha. I let my friend wire it up while I messed with the O2 sensor, and he was reinstalling the dash bezel by the time I was done.

    Which Wideband???

I've been running the AEM UEGO in my car since 2011 and have been more than pleased. I like that the sensor never needs calibration. Even with the AEM if you think the sensor is bad you can test it easily to make sure it's reading correctly. It's a simple test using a rag soaked in brake...

Are the Mancini Mag mounts any beter than the stock mounts

A torque strap with stock type mounts may also work for you. Even with the strap/rod holding the drivers side down the stock mounts still absorb vibrations like the strap isn't there.

    FiTech EFI system

Does anyone know the cfm rating of the throttle bodies? Looking at the pictures and videos it looks fairly large, but I haven't seen anything in any literature I've seen. It looks like an interesting system. I'm tempted to give it a shot. If it works I can sell my carb stuff and almost pay...

    360 with Nitrous?

The stock internals are plenty strong to take a 150 shot for years of racing. If you're worried about it just run 100. IMO, a 50 shot isn't even worth the effort. Of course with any nitrous system you must make sure the fuel system is adequate and be able to control timing. When in doubt...

    Help reading spark plugs

Looks overtimed with a rich idle to me. How long did it idle before you shut it off? What's the timing set at? Do you know the initial and total numbers? Are you running the vacuum advance? Also, if you're going to be attempting to read plugs I find it's easier to read NGK plugs due to...

Return fuel system w/ current parts?

Also, if you need a pressure gauge I highly recommend the Autometer (Autogage) 2172. It's liquid filled but has a pressure release so it reads steady and doesn't have the issues of changing it's reading as temp goes up. Simply open the pressure relief and it reads accurately every time. Best...

Return fuel system w/ current parts?

Here's how I did mine. In your case I'd run a bosch 044 pump, -6an (or -8an if you want)from tank to carb and -8an return line. The pump is an inexpensive, yet proven, performer that will easily supply the fuel you need. Link to pump...

    Any experience with MABBCO engines?

My group of friends use Blaine's Motor Supply in Dallas, Tx. One friend had three engines done last year. Two are currently running and the other is still sitting for a project (all 360 magnums). Another just bought a 350 for his 95 Chevy Solverado he's building and has been up and running...

    Single Plane M1 P4452898

On my old 360 I lost 1.5 tenths by switching from an Eddy Airgap to an M1 single plane. No other changes. Same mph, but the quickest I could ever get it to run was 1.5 tenths slower than the best pass with the Airgap. The torque loss was also very noticeable during street driving. Going with...

    2002 Dakota starter,mini starter?

If you haven't picked one up yet, look for one from a 98-older 5.2 Dakota. Technically the 02 starter will bolt up, but in 1999 they started using a harness plug for the solenoid wire. The 98-older version still used a stud and that would simplify your installation. If you go onto Oreilly or...

Best Way to Hoist an Engine

I used to use carb plates but have switched to using one of these. Being able to move weight back and forth to level or angle the engine to stab in is much easier. It attaches with bolts on the heads. Also, I cut the angles off the brackets because I don't use them and they sometimes get in...

How do you cool you motor in between passes?

I mainly run 1/8 mile stuff, but do occasionally get to Ennis. It really just depends on what's going on. I run bracket and 7.0 index so there's usually something going on within reasonable driving distance.

How do you cool you motor in between passes?

On very hot days I'll drive the front of the car onto ramps and use a carpet dryer aimed up at the block. I picked up this tip from a very good bracket racer in my area and works quite well. Still not as good as circulating the cooling system with an electric water pump, but usually I can get...

    hard block

When you use hard block it eliminates the engine coolant's ability to regulate the oil temp. I'd imagine a nice external oil cooler and oil temp gauge would solve your problem without removing the hard block.
