[FOR SALE] 1972 Scamp project 360/727

Selling my '72 Scamp. I've had it for a few years and just don't have time to work on it. It was originally a 318/904 car. Now has a 360/727 from a late 70's dodge van. I was told by the previous owner that the engine/trans has 80k on it. New brake shoes, lines, hoses on all four corners...

    Take you for a ride.

Thanks man, I needed that. I haven't driven a muscle car in a few years. My last car was a gasser style Studebaker with no interior. I liked it that way. The louder the better!

My Bucket O' Bolts Is On YouTube

Man, that looks pretty sweet. If that's a 20 footer then mines a 100 footer, at night, in the rain.

    Quitting smoking.

I haven't had a drag in 4 years. Used to smoke 2 packs a day. Something that really helped me when I quit was mint toothpicks. I'd always have one of those hangin' out of my mouth instead of a cigarette. I still reach for a toothpick when I get stressed out. Good luck!!!

What One Car (doesn't have to be a Mopar) Turned You Into A Gearhead?

My parents took me to see the John Cusack movie Better off Dead in 1985. I was Fifteen years old, and the '67 rally sport Camaro featured in the movie did it for me. I bought a '68 Firebird a year later, and I've always had some sort of muscle car ever since.

Edelbrock Street Ram on a 408?!?

I ran a tunnel ram on a street driven 460 powered Ford Fairlane for a while. It was absolutely frightening above 3000 RPMs. Below that it was just OK. I took the tunnel ram off and put on a weiand stealth dual plane and couldn't believe how much more low end power I had. The difference was...

    leaky headers......

The best thing I ever did to my last two cars was cut off the header collector flanges and weld on ball and socket flanges. No gasket to blow out, and they seal great. I think I got mine from summit.

idk why but supras are hot

Yup, they're fast. I still wouldn't be caught dead driving one of those things. That Supra would blow the doors off my car, but damn, it sounded like $h!t!

    360 motor mounts

I took a look at the Mancini's and the Schumacher's (those poly locks are sweet) but they are WAY out of my budget. If that's all that's available I'll just have to fabricate my own. I can cut up the van mounts that I have and make 'em work with the Scamp.

    360 motor mounts

Thanks guys. I didn't think those would work. I'll try to hunt down the right motor mounts.

    360 motor mounts

Hey fellas, I've been piecing together the basket case '72 Scamp I bought a few months ago and I'm about ready to drop the engine in. It's a 360 out of a '77 Dodge van. I put the correct oil pan on it, but I'm not sure if these motor mounts are right for the Scamp. Can anyone point me in the...

    360 oil pan

The 360 I plan on dropping in my '72 Scamp is from a van and has a rear sump. What pan do I need on this engine? I've seen pans with the sump all the way up front, and some that were more in the middle. The car was originally a 318 if that matters.

    318 vs 360 weight

Thanks to the VIN decoder on this site I figured out that my new Scamp was born with a 318. I have a 360 to put in it. Is there any weight difference between the two engines? I'm trying to figure out if I need to change the torsion bars when I drop the 360 in.

    Just picked up a Scamp

Yup. The rear rally wheels on there have way less back spacing than the fronts. They are 14 inchers. Don't know how wide they are though.

    Just picked up a Scamp

Hi guys. I just bought my first Mopar, a '72 Plymouth Scamp. It originally had a 318, but I will be putting in a '77 360 that came with the car. I'm sure I'll be bugging you with all sorts of questions. I'm glad this site is out there. Talk to you soon.
