    Undercoating

This car had undercoating from bumper to bumper, all fender wells and everything inbetween. I removed it from a tip from another member with a propane torch and a scraper. I have sanblasted it all clean and smooth. The blast will be ok for a while but I will need to seal it before long. I think...

    Undercoating

I have just about removed all the undercoating from my 68 Cuda. The 64 thousand dollar question is, what should I use to recoat with. I don't want to replace it with more undercoating. I want to use something with a shine to it while maintain corrosion resistance, although when I'm done I can't...

    68 Cuda

Thanks a bunch, the propane torch and a scraper works great and is pretty fast also. The little it leaves behind will be easily sand blasted away. I removed more undercoating in an hour this evening than I had in weeks.

    68 Cuda

Mine is thin in places and ultra thick in others. Sand bounces off in most places. Aircraft paint remover softens it up and can be sraped off but that stuff will eat the hide off of you without proper skin protection. It wont be easy but I'll get it off.

    68 Cuda

Guys, I can only assume (bad word) that the 68 Cuda came undercoated from the factory. If id did or didn't I want to remove all of it. Any suggestions for removal. Artie Perilloux

    68 Cuda What yall think

Chief I always seem to get myself in trouble with my wild ideas especially when I have a few adult beverages. You're right, being different isn't always a plus. It's my fault, I just don't have the experience of confidence in the A-Body front suspension.

    68 Cuda What yall think

I have never been one to do what everybody else does. I have an idea to put front rack and pinion steering on my 68 Cuda. Plan would be to use, Pinto, Mustang II, Chevy Metric etc front spindles, a custom lower control arm and strut arms fabricated by myself with a power rack. I know I can buy...

    Moving leaf springs inward

You guys are da s**t. Great parts on the sites. The particular one of interest was mounting front coil overs and do away with the torsion bars. How difficult will it be to reinforce the upper shock mounts on the A-body.

    Moving leaf springs inward

Somewhere I remember seeing a kit to move the rear leafs inward. I would like to put some fat tires on the 68 Cuda and the leafs are at least one obstacle in the way. Anyone know of such a kit? Artie Perilloux

    Bushings

New to Mopars and I am looking for the correct term for the bushings in the lower arms that the longitudal bars hook into on a 68 Cuda. I need to change them but I need to know what to look for first. Thanks, Artie Perilloux

    Abrasive blasting media

The sand was inside of the local Home Depot but who knows where it's been. What I really need to know is where to buy what I need. Thanks, Artie

    Abrasive blasting media

Bought a 90# sand blaster today from Harbor Freight and they do not carry sand. The salesman told me to use play box sand. Well it didn't work at all. It seems like it compacts to much and has a lot of rocks and debris in it. Bottom line is what type of sand do I need to buy? Thanks in...

South Louisiana Father Son 1968 Cuda

Guys, I raced roundy round on dirt for 18 years so my son got broke in well. Got tired of tearing up S**t every weekend so I got out of it and told my son we would build a street rod. The Cuda was the first good deal that came along so here we are. Other than the Chrysler leaf springs which at...

South Louisiana Father Son 1968 Cuda

Just got a 68 fastback Cuda that needs a ton of work. My 16 year old son can't keep his hands off of it. First order of business has been taken care of meaning we have removed the front and rear suspension. Now we are in the process of removing undercoating and will eventually sand blast the...
