Exactly what my issue was. Was a pain to pinpoint without a multimeter and a lot of patience and a key turning monkey. Poor dude drank a six pack listening to me curse non-stop for 3 hours. Turned out to be a couple broken wires tap dancing on eachother causing a dead short.

I just looked at my Haynes book. I have one. It still kicks up a dust storm. Wonder if there's some other remedy. I don't cate if it stirs up dust, just don't want it in the engine compartment.

I'm wondering if I am missing some type of shroud for the bottom of the fan/radiator. My driveway is dirt and on dry days my car kicks up huge plumes of dust ( I know.. Ironic). My big gripe is having to constantly clean the engine because of all the dust that gets up in the engine compartment...

Sounds like a short circuit in the harness maybe? Have you ran through it with a test meter? I had a crack in my harness that caused all kinds of havoc with the ignition switch.

I just had the exact same issue. It was a short with the ignition switch.

Measure 6.75" from the fender/door seam for horizontal measure 3.5" down from the second contour line for the vertical. This will give you direct center for the badge. Dip the pins in grease to mark and drill. Hope that helps.

If they are original fenders they may have the holes visible on the inside of the fender. If it was a gold duster or twister package then it was a decal and there would be no holes drilled. Here's a picture of the right side. I can get you exact measurements if you need.

What tach are you using? On a basic tach you'll have power, ground, lighting and sender. Some will have a shift light wire as well. Red would got to power, black to ground and white to the lighting circuit. If you are looking for the dimmer circuit a test meter will find it fast by dropping the...

I agree. Use MEK to get the bulk of it off. Wear a respirator and heavy gloves. MEK is nasty stuff. Because the chemicals are a mismatch it will still be tacky so use acetone to wipe the residue off. Acetone will suck out the tacky polymers and you should be able to let it dry and lightly sand...

Brushed on brake fluid. Brush on a light coat and let it sit for a few hours. Wipe dry and repeat until the paint has come off. Brake fluid is the only thing I have had success with cleaning paint off palstic parts without melting the plastic.
