    Ellusive Wagon Tailpipe Installed

Yes, if you can find a shop that still does it & has data. As it was I had to travel 40 miles to find one that was not a Midas or other with strict rules on installing "customer brought parts". Plus, I was glad to find the correct pipe given the car is 90% survivor. Gorky, I always wondered...

    Ellusive Wagon Tailpipe Installed

Not a huge deal, but I FINALLY found a true replica of the wagon tailpipe...different from sedan as it has right side exit just before bumper. The side exit was obviously to help avoid fumes being drawn up through the open window of the tailgate. I recall the position of the exhaust pipe from...

    66 Dart wheel question, carb/iginition

Not sure how much money you want to put into it, but I would probably try to find a 8 3/4 rear to swap. The 7.25 is not very durable and behind a 4 speed, even less. The 8 3/4 would provide besides the 4.5 bolt pattern, potential for sure grip and a host of gear selections too (3:23, 3:55...

    Bowl gasket for 1bbl Holley

Anyone know who carries the front, rectangular bowl gasket for our stock /6s? NAPA said they would need to special order $8 in shipping for a $3 gasket? Wondering who else may have it on hand? Thanks

Only one rear seat belt in wagon?

Sorry Jsyn, have all back together...should have taken a picture when I discovered it...dang it. I do recall the rear seat belts bracket has a 90 degree bend in it, unlike (flat) front belts. If I get the seat back out soon i'll take a picture of it

trailer hitch for a early dart

I had to read this thread as I still marvel that my father used to pull another car (Tow bar) and multiple U-Haul trailers with just the "clamp on chain -types" U-Haul had back in the day behind our '66 wagon. Now I look at mine, identical to his with just those puny bumper bolts holding the...

Only one rear seat belt in wagon?

Interestingly, discovered only one rear seat belt in my wagon (front has both). I'm pretty sure you could order just one rear belt back in '66 but found it curious for a wagon. The other bolt holes were still filled with factory goop. Perhaps original owner only had one child??? Or was...

    Station Wagon wind deflectors?

My wagon has factory exhaust deflectors like you just purchased. I also have rear valance exhaust exit (previous owner) but have not had problems with fumes...too much. My motor needs rebuilt so no amount of "deflection" will solve that. I tend to drive with rear window 3/4 down and rear...

    Testiment to the 904 Trans

Well, completed the fluid change, filter and installed new Chrysler pan gasket as suggested. I drain most of torque converter as well ( yes left some old in)...just hedging. Like stated here, given cold slipping, it likely is not long for this world but perhaps I'll get a season or two out of...

    Testiment to the 904 Trans

Yep RR, that's what I'm concerned about. Agree, overall with SlantDan but was told years ago by a Transmission guy that high mileage trans should not use all new fluid unless they are completely rebuilt. Have always remembered that so in a quandary now. Does not feel right to keep running it...

    Testiment to the 904 Trans

I have been slowly refurbishing my '66 wagon that spent 25+ yrs in the Texas Desert. One of the items I noticed just moving the car around my larger circular driveway was the transmission was slipping when cold and I could not tell about upshifts as I did not have enough driveway to find out...

    7.25 Pinion Seal Replaced

Thought I'd add this thread as I had to scrounge several together to do mine. 1) Very helpful to use a Yoke Holder tool. I used a "universal" one I found on Ebay for $19 so could not beat it. saved a lot of cursing especially if you do not have a lift and the axle is still in the car...

    7.25 pinion nut direction?

So I had a day off so....

Had some time off this week...FINALLY and in between the usual list of chores and other stuff to get done decided to tackle replacing my speedometer in my '66 wagon. Neither the speedo or odometer worked. After getting the dash apart, I discovered no needle to the speedo and the plastic gear...

Ok, I saw a thread earlier on this and cannot find it using "search" so sorry for redundant post. I have cluster almost removed. Cable disconnected, wiper, and light switch out, lighter out and screws on left side panel. However, right side is still "stuck"? What am I missing? Nothing else...

    '66 Dart Wagon Survivor "refurbish"

I know for my '66 you can use a 4 door sedan carpet which helps greatly...not unique for wagons. Look around, several companies carry it and in pretty good variety of colors...I even found my red. I used ACC. Good luck

Well, here's the latest effort on my wagon. I got the carpet installed this past weekend, sorry for the crappy cell phone shot. It certainly "woke up" the interior, especially shows off my worn steering wheel...but that's part of it charm. Amazing how the dealer-installed AC has a drain hose...

What makes Mopar stand out ?

Great thread. The posts folks have made make the argument. I too believe the "lore" around quality engines from slant six to 383, 340 and hemi in particular as well as the wild engineering Chrysler did set them apart. Who else had a vacuum operated Air Grabber door that popped out your hood...
