I couldn't handle that wonky seat back, so my husband and I fixed it tonight. I also finished the back seat bottom, so the back seat is done! I'm really excited with how it turned out. My husband has the front end off, and he's going to replace it with the front end off the blue two-door...

I've been working on re-covering my seats. I started with the back part of the back seat. Before: It had some sort of scrubbing pads glued across the top, for some reason. Glued right down on the vinyl. Here's a picture of the cover once I took it off to use as a template: And here...

Two fender tags for your perusal...

...and decoding, if you're willing and able! This one is from my 64 Dart 4-door: And from my 65 Dart 2-door: Someone (dglearn) specifically asked to see the fender tag for the 2-door.

    Name that fastener!

Waggin, whew! Is that a technical term? I tried twisting them, and I couldn't get them to budge. Maybe I'm just not strong enough. I'll give it another try, or else make my husband give it a try. It might be better to just try to clean without taking them down.

    Name that fastener!

Anybody know what these fasteners are called, the ones holding the metal strip in place? I learned somewhere that you remove them by shoving a flathead screwdriver in between the two pieces. That causes the clip to pop open, but it breaks in the process. I want to take this strip off because the...

    Still confused by my headliner.

Also, do you think if I do the headliner now and then do the windlace much later, that will be ok? Like, if I leave in the windlace is there, do you think I will be able to take it out later without messing up my new headliner?

    Still confused by my headliner.

Wow, Baby looks amazing! I don't think mine (I'm calling her Cricket) will look QUITE that amazing since I'm doing this all on a very tight budget and doing a lot of it myself with the help of my husband, and this is my first car. But Baby is definitely a fantastic reference point, and so...

    Still confused by my headliner.

Pauly, it's a 64 Dart 4-door. My parts cars both have the trim you are talking about, but they are 2-doors. I actually took some of the trim out of one of them to see if I could just use it on my car, but I don't think my doors will close properly if I try to do that. Petty and Redfish, so I...

    Still confused by my headliner.

Okay, I've read a zillion tutorials and threads about replacing my bow-style headliner, and I'm totally in. But one thing is confusing me to no end. My car does not have a trim panel that goes over the edges once the headliner is installed. I do not think my car ever had this; it does not appear...

    Carpet Install Questions

So, Tony, are the pre-molded carpets not necessarily one piece? Yours looks like there are two pieces; am I seeing that right? Is there a reason for that? Also, what type of insulation did you use there?

My husband and I paid one price for four Darts earlier this month: The four-door is mine. The convertible is his. The others are for parts (back glass, for instance). All are pretty rough! We'll be doing abbreviated, poor-man's restorations, but I'm really excited about these projects...

    Carpet Install Questions

A follow up... if you put insulating material down first, won't that mess up the way your pre-molded carpet fits?

    Headliner conversion kits

Geof, thanks! I think you're right, that I'll be a lot happier with a headliner that's actually made for what I'm trying to do. And since you say you have some experience, I have some follow up questions... First, I don't understand what my final step will be in the headliner installation. All...

    Headliner conversion kits

Anybody ever use one of these? I'm looking to put a headliner in my 64 Dodge Dart 4-door. I have my bows, and I think I could probably install a regular headliner kit, and I'm helped by the fact that my back glass is already out and my front glass is going to come out. However, I have seen these...

    Another newb.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all! I'll post some pics of the others in the package when I get home. 67Signet, mine is a 4-door. I'm looking at painting it the light blue with the white top. For the interior, I'm kind of confusing myself. Sometimes my mind thinks the interior is blue...

    Another newb.

Evening, folks! This forum keeps popping up in my Google searches, so I thought I'd join. I just started my first project, a 1964 Dodge Dart. My husband is doing the mechanical and body work, and I'm doing the interior. This car is rough! I'm also way new at this stuff (hence all the Google...
