these lifters are designed for r3 48 degree block, oils on the other side. Something that should be on there web site.

defiantly lifter problem with combination with cam and rockers. t&d rockers oil out 2 holes one for valve lube and one for pushrod, and lifters hole pushrod oiling two. the cam has groove so constant pressure to rockers. so 3 holes at 2.5mm on each rocker x 16 thats 48 holes leaking at full...

Ok quick update took off the intake and removed the dissy and used my oil priming tool to turn over the oil pump.............oil every where and i meen every where, turned over the oil sleeve that feeds the rocker shafts to stop oil going up there, tryed again, same thing. took off the rocker...

na checked that before i put it back together.

just cam ,lifter ,change oil viscosity is same, all though i changed the oil and filter too. i've got tapped and drilled allen screws in the block in the holes to the heads and drilled them out to 4 mm that's the only mods done to any oiling.

it's got the crane lifters and crower cam in now, with the pressure down. it had good pressure before with the howards cam and howard lifters. but the lifters kept elongating the cup in the top of them thus the crane lifters, and the cam was changed because it has wear in it from the lifter...

no but i did measure the cam journals and they were within a thou of the howards cam so put it in.

the whole engine oiling system the guage in the car only reads 20psi when it used to be 60 psi, only changed the cam lifters and pushrod lenghts. LA small block.

so did you guys have to tube the block when you fitted them or clearance under the rivet ,or bushed the lifter jounals?

ha ha mate i don't get offended that easy, i've spent so much time and effort on this thing, it seems like a joke to a lot of ppl. but it seems that this is what happens when you go indy heads, if i did it again i'd go edelbrock all the way, committed now to getting it to stay reliable.:banghead:

yeah mate i've checked everything like that twice, three times, the springs are 240 seat 580 over the lobe and the pushrods are 5/16 balls on 3/8 rods, trends. and coil bind isn't happening and the piston to valve still has about 1/4 inch at 20 before tdc, seem to be the closest spot i can find.

not that expensive just annoying, these are howards rollers $350 a set. i had a solid flat in before and wipped off the cam lobes, twice, thats why i went roller in the first place. the first set of these lifters were a casualty of the head rubbing on the push rods,but it's done it again i think...

i was goin mrl but they can't supply the ultra pro ones, manufacturing is givin them a hard time, and i don't want to chance the cheaper ones .

looking at crane ultra pro lifters and wonder if anyone else has put them in a la small block, any mods needed?
