Oil pressure problem, Help Please.

hi guys and girls, hoping someone can give me a hand to fix my oil pressure drama, or have had the same problem before. bit of back ground, LA 410 stroker, eagle forged crank ,k1 rods, Indy 360-1 heads, T&D rockers, Crane ultra solid roller lifters, Crower 34701 Camshaft. OK now the problem i just put the new Crower camshaft in, had a howard one in before and crane lifters, howards lifters before them. now i started it up and i only have 20 psi oil pressure. the crower camshaft has a groove all around it for head oiling not just holes like the other cams i've got. And the pushrods are hollow so oil can go up them too. I'm at a loss to know where the pressure has gone, any ideas.
 
What oiling system? (including crank/rod bearings). We need a breakdown ,of the system in trouble.......
 
the whole engine oiling system the guage in the car only reads 20psi when it used to be 60 psi, only changed the cam lifters and pushrod lenghts. LA small block.
 
Put the Cranes back in,had these. A damn nice lifter... I love Howard's cams,Crane's drop in lifters,flat out the best.
 
no but i did measure the cam journals and they were within a thou of the howards cam so put it in.

it's got the crane lifters and crower cam in now, with the pressure down. it had good pressure before with the howards cam and howard lifters. but the lifters kept elongating the cup in the top of them thus the crane lifters, and the cam was changed because it has wear in it from the lifter wheels so i had to replace it.
 
Any bushing/ oil restrictors,top end?.....A change ,in oil viscosity? A cam swap,or a whole engine refresh?
 
just cam ,lifter ,change oil viscosity is same, all though i changed the oil and filter too. i've got tapped and drilled allen screws in the block in the holes to the heads and drilled them out to 4 mm that's the only mods done to any oiling.
 
Hang tight ,Aussie ... I'm speechless. I can have an absolutely correct answer,in 24 hours.... Moper,the shot guy,for now. Double check,24 hours from now....
 
I am wondering if somehow the lifters are coming out of the bore too far. Maybe the oil grooves are up too high. I've seen it before. I have also seen big block lifters packaged for small block ones. They will interchange, but the early big block lifters had the oil groove in a different place. Just something to check.

Ok quick update took off the intake and removed the dissy and used my oil priming tool to turn over the oil pump.............oil every where and i meen every where, turned over the oil sleeve that feeds the rocker shafts to stop oil going up there, tryed again, same thing. took off the rocker shafts and tryed again, oil out the pushrods like a hose, and around the lifters. took out the crane lifters and put the howards back in no leaks, and 60 psi again. seems the crane lifters are no good. the oil feed from the side goes unrestricted to the pushrods leaking like a sieve. is this normal at 26 thou lash all the oil pressure is excaping out them. anyone seen this before or fixed it.

and this ones with the cranes on the left bank, watch the oil build up. i think pushrod oiling is a bad thing in la engine , live and learn. I still think it's a problem with the lifters. Not the oil through design. Tons of people have made that conversion with no trouble whatsoever.

defiantly lifter problem with combination with cam and rockers. t&d rockers oil out 2 holes one for valve lube and one for pushrod, and lifters hole pushrod oiling two. the cam has groove so constant pressure to rockers. so 3 holes at 2.5mm on each rocker x 16 thats 48 holes leaking at full pressure. going to change to comp 828 lifters & restrict rockershfts. should be fixed.

the good guys at mrl have found the problem, the pushrod oiling hole is on the wrong side of the lifter, on crane 69550 lifters the hole is on the main oil gallery, pressure side, on there's it's on the other side, thus slowing flow way down. So if you buy pushrod oiling lifters for you la make shore the oiling hole is on the cam side.
 
Well the good guys at mrl have the problem sorted look like i'd better buy a set of there's now.

these lifters are designed for r3 48 degree block, oils on the other side. Something that should be on there web site.
 
is the hole drilled thru both sides if it is just weld it up or epoxy it and smooth it out that way the oil goes all the way around to oil it.
