I have gone to the Wildwood disc setup.

I put a sealer down on the valve cover side only. Sinch the down till there snug and go a half turn more, maybe 6-8 ft# tops.

Old school was to use aluminum paint to seal the shim gaskets.

I got mine at www.rockauto.com brand new but without the big flange. About 60.00. Wagner P/N BD60123.. They come drilled for the small pattern but any decent machinist can redrill if you have big pattern axles.

Looking at the 2 engines the 406 is a better balance of parts, the cam in the 460 is screaming for more compression. Go for it Jr.
