1963 Dart Auto Transmission part identification

Thanks for the post Plymouth 65, I thought it was called the kickdown lever or shaft too. Here's the diagram I found if that helps, they call it the throttle shaft, not sure what kind of a bearing bushing goes around it but mine is definitely worn out..

Getting closer I think.. Looks like a diagram I found it's the throttle shaft, still can't find any bushing though

1963 Dart Auto Transmission part identification

Hello all, I was wondering if someone could help me identify a part I need. See the attached pic. That's where the linkage from the throttle comes down to the transmission and connects into the top of the transmission. That part is loose and I assume needs some sort of bushing as I am leaking...

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

We'll see Rusty Rat Rod, if someone want's it I'll still sell it before cutting it. I am leaning towards just extending the trunk lid instead of a true El Camino look. That way the look as is may work better. Making it vertical like the ranchero would be a ridiculous amount of extra fab work.

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

I'd take $1000 for it as is.

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

Point taken, not sure if I'm going to do it yet and no the SawZ-all didn't come out yet, been too busy with other projects at the moment.. maybe during the winter.

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

Thanks for all the tips guys! What I am thinking of doing before any cutting is to weld the rear doors closed. That should keep some of the stability in place and since I am cutting the roof right behind the front door pillar that should also help with the integrity of the structure.. I think...

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

Been doing a lot of reading up on this type of a project and I will add in some extra supports. I was also toying with the idea of perhaps not a pickup but just extending the trunk by the amount I cut out. Almost like a pickup with a tonneau cover on it except it's the trunk lid. I project...

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

Thanks Chryslerfat, that was the kind of comment I was hoping for, so brace up the inside before cutting the back of the roof off? Or jack up to get the weight off the wheels? Sorry first time doing this lol.

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

Current pic, Got to measure things up to see how tough it will be but I have plenty of sheet metal around and need to hone my welding skills so it may be an interesting project.

63 Dart 4 door conversion to Pickup..

So I have not had much luck selling my dart as people tend to not want a 4 door and of course some rust issues. I had the crazy idea of converting the car to a pickup by cutting out the rear glass and moving it forward just behind the front doors. I won't get into all the fab work that I will...

    1963 Dart - Rims & Tires Upgrade?

Thanks Barbee, just found some threads on it. I have the stock 13"s on it now, but will probably go with the sbp 14x6 that Summit has. Then have to figure out the tire size that will work. Thanks for the info on the disc brakes, good point. I will have to consider that before making any...

    1963 Dart - Rims & Tires Upgrade?

Hi All, I am interested in upgrading from the stock rims and tires to something a little beefier, basically a little wider. I have seen some pics on-line of darts with wider rims and tires but no info on them. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well I finally got my Bendpak lift installed so I am going to put the dart up in the air this weekend. I think I am going to get it road worthy and then possibly sell it if I can get any interest in a running fixer upper. I just have too many projects all at the same time. If anyone is...

Thanks, it was funny I was asking for a sign if it was the right time to start up my side business of fixing up cars.. guess 3 cars dropping in your lap is a pretty good sign.. Not to mention 5 old 80's Jap motorcycles..

So I got her home this past Friday along with the 55 olds and 73 Monte Carlo. The Dart was empty on gas so I tried to gas her up but found pin holes in the tank. I used an old motorcycle tank and got her running!! She even backed out and drove a few feet. I think there is a mouse nest in the...

    1970 fury 111 convertible with a 383

I'd buy it if I didn't have 4 other cars coming my way shortly. That car would be worth some $$$ when all fixed up.

The other cars are a 55 Olds 98 Holiday, 73' monte Carlo and 82 Jag XJS 12cyl. I think the Dart and Monte are in the best shape for getting back on the road. Hopefully the olds as well. I feel like I am jinxing this since I didn't actually get any of them yet, within the next two weeks if all...

Sounds like a perfect project, you know all the history and that it hasn't been "messed with". Can't wait to see a pic of that beast.

    What would you give....

Damn, that exploded tank didn't even look that rusty on the inside. I got a large brand new tank from Tractor Supply, love that thing but that video makes me want to build a cage around it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I am just hoping the frame is OK. The car is complete and was driven into that spot several years ago. I plan on draining out all the gas, shoot some oil into the spark plug holes, hand crank it a little and then try to start her with some fresh gas. If that...

Hello from NY! I am going to be getting a 63 Dart from a friend of mine. She's a little rough but I can't complain since it's a free car. Also getting some other cars but not mopars. I am hoping the frame is still OK and not rotten. Everything is there and it's a complete car so I am hoping...
