Richard Holdener to test the Piston Reversal theory

On one of his videos from a day or two ago he’s in a wrecking yard trying to find a 360 Magnum to test performance mods on and try the piston reversal idea. Should be fun!

    Rollout vs ET

Wondering what difference in ET you guys have seen in shallow staging vs deep staging in let’s say, 12-13 second cars (and faster cars if you want to comment, tall tires vs short tires etc. that would be interesting too). Is it a whole tenth? More? Less? I’ve always wondered but never made...

EFI in-tank fuel pump to carb?

Could a late 80’s early 90’s factory high pressure (40? 50? psi) FI fuel pump be regulated down to work with a carburetor (with a return line of course)? Reasons being factory pump reliability and quietness in a ‘74 D100 daily driver. Thanks.

    Used Car

One day, these two guys go to the used car lot to buy a car. The salesman comes over and asks if he can help and then asks how much money they were planning to spend. They tell the salesman they have $200 between them....."$200 dollars? No, sorry guys, I don't have anything that cheap." The two...

Nearly denied for the purchase of a camshaft on my 'pre smog' California vehicle

This is new to me..... Me; "Hello Summit, one CompCams XE262 camshaft please" Summit; "Is this item for a vehicle mfg. before 1966 or a kit vehicle?" Me; "Huh? Neither, it's for a 1974 vehicle, pre Calif. smog" Summit; "This item has been removed from the Calif. air resources...." blah blah...

    Small Hughes cam in 318

I have a Hughes HEH 215/223 cam in a budget 318 shortblock and for the fun of it I checked their cam specs against my measurements. Cam is 112* LSA, (ICL 109*, mine went in at 107*). I ended up very close to the specs they list, (215* @.050 Int./ .462" lift/ 36* ICA @.050"- I got 35*) but I was...

    'California gas' comp. ratio recommendation

    Crosswind vs. RPM Intake

Helping a nephew with a 360 build (2.02 J heads, Mopar .474-280 cam, mostly street driven) and I noticed that the Crosswind is about $120 cheaper than the RPM. But, I think I remember reading somewhere that the Crosswind has a smaller port cross sectional area. Is this true? If so, I'm guessing...

    Useful Info?

Hey all. I've been trying to decide whether to use 318 or 360 heads on a mild 318 build for a street driven '74 D100 half ton, 2wd, auto, 3.23 gear. I've read tons of archive posts on the 318 vs 360 head debate and I'm still not sure. So, I took the results from the '318 head porting for the...

    Email notifications

Is there a way to turn OFF the notifications to my personal Email? I don't want my email filled up with messages every time someone comments on my thread, or on a thread I have commented on. The 'inbox' and 'alerts' on the website are enough of a notice for me. I looked but can't find where to...

    DIY Crack Checking?

I'm looking into getting some of the penetrant dye/developer spray to check for cast iron cracks in some heads I have, and was wondering if some of you do this, if you have a brand preference or another way of checking your own heads? Thanks.

    Gibson shorty headers

I bought a set of Gibson shorty headers from a 5.2 Magnum Dakota in a JY, too cheap to pass up, thinking I might use them on a mildly hopped up, carbed 360 Magnum swap into a '74 D100 I'm planning. Anyway, I was surprised at how small the collector exit size is, 1 3/4"! I was wondering, with the...
