    (Another) Slant 6 No-Start Thread

Let me begin by saying that prior to this the car has always started easy and reliably. When I first got it it didn't run. I put new plugs in it and it's ran right ever since. Until recently. Here's the story, I had just finished welding on new frame rails (safetcaps actually) so I can finally...

Disc conversion using 13 in rims?

If I had to guess, stock hubcaps. I wanted to run 13s for the hubcaps but It just wasn't gonna happen, theres basically no 13" tires in production. To the OP, if hubcaps are your concern, you can measure and cut the top off a dog-dish cap and carefully mate it to your hubcap so it sits in the...

    [SOLD] WTB 63-69 A-body

If you weren't firmly against 4 doors, and I understand everyone has their own taste, it seems to me, living in upstate and downstate NY that they are usually in better shape on this coast. They were usually family cars, and those "grandma just kept driving it" stories are a little more...

Disc conversion using 13 in rims?

The only way it could even potentially be done would be to shorten the scarebird bracket to accomadate a smaller radius, and then go out on your own to find a caliper/rotor combo that fits. And good luck with that; as it is the scarebird kit uses calipers to a discontinued chevy and a rotor off...

    Post pics of your dart!

Shocking, but not untraceable, and in fact gradual in some ways. We'll leave the Dart Lancer out of this, and start in 63, the first year it was just the 'Dart.' The 63 grill is actually smoother, and in some ways closer to the spirit of the 65 model, 64 features a design update including...

    Post pics of your dart!

Here's my 64. Should be my daily starting in May! Just finished replacing frame sections recently.

1964 Dodge Dart - A Crusty, Rusty Daily

Hello all, I've had my Dart now since last summer, and I've been putting off a restoration thread since I haven't done much. And in truth I probably won't be doing much immediately, which I'm sure some people will object to but I rescued her from a dark fate so that enough for me to feel good...

Here's the crusty but reliable (until recently but thats a story for another thread) powerplant in what'll be my daily driver starting mid-May. '64 Dart

High Impact Colors, and The Future

So there I was walking back from class today, and I noticed two identical bright green 2015 Challengers (Sublime maybe?). One was pulling out of the University's lot and the other just at red light. They were also both some trim upgrade with the black stripes and lettering, and a spoiler. They...

    Youth and muscle cars

It definitely depends on access. I was into cars as a little kid, and it faded some. I was lucky to have met my girlfriend, whose dad had classics and a lift-and-all garage. Got me back into it, and now I have my Dart. His 16yo son is building his first car with him too, a 67 Cougar. We both use...

    How screwed am I?

I understand that there is a degree of illegality at play, but if it really was transferred fairly and knowingly then who's being harmed here? Just fixing some poorly handled paperwork.

    How screwed am I?

:thumblef: But on the topic at hand, a picture would help us understand the situation most accurately, I believe the OP mentioned he could post one.

    How screwed am I?

Viola! https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck Only checks for theft or salvage but it is legit. National Insurance Crime Bureau

    How screwed am I?

Well that does vary state to state. NY for example is a bit strict.

    How screwed am I?

I mean i Agree with RRR. Hate to say it but, just forge it. We had to several weeks ago with a 68 Thunderbird. In NY you need to insure the project to register it and so projects can become passed across an owner without changing names. Use the free federal DB search, make sure its not reported...

    BEWARE. 67 Barracuda

sounds like when I went to look at my 64 Dart. Any major frame rust? He says no. 2 hour drive and the rear spring mounts were swiss cheese. Pull off chucks with your fingers gone. I mean, he came down to 500 so I bough it anyway but why do people so blatantly lie. He knew about it too he had...

What would you offer/pay for this pair of darts

I think all this "scrap it, they're worthless" business is nonsense. He said surface rust, not frame rot, and even then that's fixable if you care enough. If the interiors are good and they run decent, body work isn't that expensive. Pretty one up and use it as a driver!

    What transmission fluid???

I use Castrol TransMax Dex/Merc in mine. Pros: it works well, always comes out clean so I assume it's doing a fine job of lubricating and keeping metal off metal. And it's quiet. I have a totally stock 1964 transmission and sometimes you can't even hear it shift. You just know it did when you...

    Which oil

I'll say this though, oil weight may not do jack if things are too worn out in the bottom end. My girlfriend's father has a '68 Ford Galaxie he lefts lets me drive, which used to bottom out near 0 oil pressure at red lights. I know its not a mopar engine but my point is: new oil pump, no leaks...

A Little Slant 6 Reliability Proof

Hello all, just sharing a little video for fun. We've all heard how reliable Slant 6es are, and heres a little proof. My car sat for 10 years, and since getting it all I've done is new plugs, a seafoam clean, and a valve lash. The oil could use a change but isnt 10 years old. It has a 2 bbl carb...

    Blue 64 Dart GT

My '64 270 (4 door) probably won't ever look this good, but you've inspired me to try and refresh my instrument cluster a bit! My "chrome" areas are just dull grey with tan showing through.

    WTH is that?

I don't think I've ever truly gasped so loud! What could have possible made them want to do that?
