383 BB going in a 66 Barracuda that was originally a 273. Motech Performance acquired Schumacher but I haven’t been able to get an answer from them as to when they will have a set of mounts available. Does anyone have an old Schumacher set for sale?

2886 is the part number. High rise Edelbrock 383 single plane intake. RPM range 3000-8500.

I ordered a 2886 Edelbrock intake for my 383 low deck back in July. Been on back order since then and still no date from Edelbrock as to when this part will even be made. Does anyone have any insight as to what the hold up is?

Hello Jim, I read somewhere you can make the early a body Big Block motor mounts. I’m going from the 273 to a 383. Is this something you still do?

I’m looking for a bell to fit my application. Putting a 400 low deck stroker in a 66 Barracuda with a A833. From what I’ve read casting # 2468372 & 2536945 should work. Does anyone have experience on this? If so, next question is, do you know where I can find one? Brewers has already told me...

Anyone on here installed a 400 low deck in a 66 Barracuda with a 4 speed? I talked to Brewers and the guy said they don’t know what linkage I need to connect my A833. Will be running B body HP manifolds if that helps.

I’m building a low deck 400 stroker for my 66 Barracuda. Will be using the factory A833 4 speed. Does anyone know the part number or casting number for a bellhousing that will fit in my car without firewall massaging??? I’m told it needs to be 10.5”. Any input is appreciated.

I’ll confirm once I drop in the motor here in the next sweet ride abodyjoe. Sure is a snug fit.

Thanks Jim. That's what i was told by the engine builder. The 400 is smaller than the 413/426/440 blocks. I found a abody BB bell housing for a 66 that should be just enough clearance. Factory exhaust manifolds are the plan as well!

Anyone have any knowledge or experience swapping out the original 273 LA to a BB 400? Car is factory 4 speed.

Any advice on stuffing a big block into these a bodies? I have a 66 Barracuda. The 400 low deck stroker is being built. I found motor mounts and want to go with factory exhaust manifolds. Also getting a big block bell housing for the A833.

Toolmanmike... I have a 66 273 commando with the 920 heads. In my research this motor checks out to be the limited edition super commando. Also states it came with factory steel tube headers & 700 cfm carb. If true, do you where to find a set?
