I ordered a 2886 Edelbrock intake for my 383 low deck back in July. Been on back order since then and still no date from Edelbrock as to when this part will even be made. Does anyone have any insight as to what the hold up is?

Chances are they are waiting for enough orders to made a run of them. That’s what the story was on the Offy slant 6 calve covers

The low deck performer RPM is out of stock too. That's a bummer to have been waiting since July.

Aluminum production is very low also or at least that's what "they're" saying.

Looks like these are in stock now:

Made over 680hp from a 452 with the RB version ootb.

AndyF may have done that comparison on one of his 470 test sessions.
(Edit- didn’t see that particular test listed)

My expectations would be.........Fully ported it’s probably about a wash.
Ootb, the TF is probably better.

My only experience with them was on the 452 I referenced above.
Not that this really means anything....... but the ootb TF certainly has better “looking” runners than the ootb Victor.

They also are moving their casting operations from California to South Carolina, so you can just imagine how long such a move will tangle up the production and machining processes. So the hotter faster moving parts are going to take priority which is to be expected. So I'm not sure where the 383 stuff falls into the mix....
