Rebuilt what was most likely the original Holley carb on the car. Ran fine for a while, but now the car either won't start unless I shoot some starting fluid in it or it wants to die out if I do get it running. Do I rebuild the carb again, get a new OEM, or ???

No noise when cornering. It sat and didn’t run for 5 years before I got it and it was pretty hard to roll. That is y I let a shop deal w the brakes. I only recently had the vacuum booster rebuilt and put the new drums on. It only makes the initial clunk but sounds and feels like it is dragging...

That makes sense and almost sounds like what might b happening. No clunking when in reverse tho, only after put in drive and only the first time. It just seems the brake/drum stays engaged after the initial clunk.

Two different shops have had it on the rack. One shop pulled the wheels, inspected, installed the new drums… but neither shop identified the problem.

I have taken the wheel off and also looked underneath when it was on a lift. Two diff shops have had it up on their lifts. Just replaced the rear drums tho and it still does it. Just feels like something is dragging on that drum. Dragging is probably not the best word choice.

The wheel spins freely. If the car is parked and I start it, but go right to neutral, it will roll if on an incline. When I shift it into gear, as soon as I start to go forward, you get the “clunk” and it is almost as if I am pressing the brake pedal.

Huge thank you. And I am sure you are right with the search being thrown off by the spec sheets. Must be the case with this car as it has the front discs, but the slant-6 225. I am going to order the 2947R's as a just in case.

Thank you everyone! This has been quite the search... Everything the shop ordered has not fit. I ordered two additional pair previously, and they don't fit either. Thanks to your suggestions, I have ordered an additional pair and might order another in hopes that one of the pair fit.

Thank you. Just took a look. If I put in year, make and model it says the 2947R's (non-finned) don't fit. Wonder if I order them anyway in hopes that they do actually fit... I ordered a pair of Rayloc's from Napa too. This way I have a 2:1 shot that one pair works?

Yes, thank you. I have seen many more w/out the fins. Don't think the fins are as big an issue since the car not driven much, and especially at high speeds. It is only a 225 after all!
