What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Painted the sides today. Hood and rear still need some work, but they're separated from the side parts by the orange lines, so no need to paint them at the same time. I just wanted to see how the satin black is going to look I will paint the window trims as well, but the last owner sprayed over...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Found a filler/rust hell from my car. I already painted the orange sides, but found other cracked panels with way too much filler, so might as well just repaint the whole car. It will be a DIY job with every crack being sanded to metal and treated with phosphoric acid, but this time I'm going to...

    Fitech ignition curve questions

Hi, got my 1200hp Fitech dual quad running pretty well after changing fuel pressure regulators and swapping to higher flowing fuel pump. Now I'd like to fine tune my ignition to as good as possible before I can get to dyno. I'll try to write everything I've done so far here, so my questions make...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Cut a hole thrpugh the trunk to see the damaged crossmember better. Accidentally cut a bit into the crossmember as well, but that's luckily the easier thing to fix up. The last owner fixed these oval holes with ******* epoxy filler. No wonder the shock came loose. My plan is now to cut this...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

First start with Fitech dual EFI. It sounds so much cleaner than with out of tune carbs I had previously. Now only job left is to finish the wiring and mount the fuel lines properly

73 Duster rear top shock mounting point failure

No idea to be honest. I hope so. The Toyota rear axle seem to be mated to the car pretty well, so I think that the guy who did it figured it out. Also the hole seems to be damaged upwards, so it seems that the shocks had enough lenght to expand.

73 Duster rear top shock mounting point failure

So today I was changing my fuel sending unit and noticed that my right shock absorber was completely loose from top. Didn't have enoight light/time to diagnose it from below of the car, but noticed from the trunk that the hole where the shock bolt comes through was completely fucked up. I...

Fitech Dual Quad fuel plumbing with return line

Fitech answered very quickly to email I sent them. Their official stance is the 2nd picture: "On the duel quad system for plumbing the fuel lines. You can bring the feed line in to the rear throttle body and tee off to the front throttle to supply it. Then for the return line you can return off...

Fitech Dual Quad fuel plumbing with return line

Got sick of my carbs being out of tune and not finding anybody with expertise to tune them without half a year of waiting here in Finland and finally bought the dual quad set. I have experience with EFI systems (megasquirt) from my earlier Porsche 924 Turbo, but this kind of dual throttlebody...

Oil pump shaft (intermediate shaft?) play/noise

Not yet, my timing light didn't work. Gotta buy a new lamp for it. That's a good point, solid +60 all the time. Will do that next time I go to the garage I don't know, there's no sideways play so it should be I think? I'm not the one who built this this engine but it was done 6 years ago by...

Oil pump shaft (intermediate shaft?) play/noise

So I've kept investigating the strange knocking/pinging of my car. So far I've checked cylinder pressures, oil, oil pressure, opened oil filter, tested pistons for vertical slack with screwdriver after tdc, flex plate bolts, valvetrain etc. Everything seems completely ok. However today I found...

Hydr lifters, adjustable roller rocker arms, had some noise, tried to adjust preload did i mess up?

Well good ending to this story. Readjusted everything one more time, letting the lifters fully decompress before doing anything (loosened the adjusting nut, waited 10 min listening to music and then adjusted preload to 1/2 turns. This got rid of the "dragging/grinding" sound. So most likely they...

Hydr lifters, adjustable roller rocker arms, had some noise, tried to adjust preload did i mess up?

Well I'm not an expert on engine noises but so far all of the strange noises that I've had on this engine are: First startup after last winter: Really excess knocking. At first it felt that every lifter was knocking, started to slow down (lifters starting to work) after running for minute or...

Hydr lifters, adjustable roller rocker arms, had some noise, tried to adjust preload did i mess up?

Thanks guys, I'll try to readjust them one more time. I actually found crane cams documentation and they said that if it's used lifter then you should let it decompress for a while (1-2mins) after loosening the adjustment. I just loosened the adjustment until I had some slack between the rocker...

Hydr lifters, adjustable roller rocker arms, had some noise, tried to adjust preload did i mess up?

Writing this on a phone so pardon me for any typos :) So i had some lifter noise. Thought that I would just have to readjust my rocker arms and it woild get fixed. Asked the old owner and he told me that car has this camshaft: COMP Cams CL20-228-4 COMP Cams Xtreme Energy Hi-Lift Cam and Lifter...

73' Duster fuel sending unit replacement

Yea that was a typo. Meant gauge Well to be honest only things I care about is that full tank shows full and I have enough gas to drive to gas station when it shows 1/4 I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have an original part, but I'll have to check it. Even the locked differential is from a...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Adjusted hand brake, swapped the old rusty headlights to these cheap ebay ones (I dig the look, let's see how they hold up) and had a small drive around the neighborhood. Next thing is to take it to the MOT.

73' Duster fuel sending unit replacement

After winter I noticed that my tank was almost empty. Went to fill the car up but it stayed at low level. There is a small jump on the fuel level when I turn ignition on, so the gauge itself (which is some aftermarket autogauge one) seems to atleast move. I haven't worked with fuel sending...

    Intake manifold fitment

Yea got in contact with the last owner and it definitely is 360 small block. That actually looks good. The overkill part of my thinking was that dropping +2k€ on the EFI is too much if even the single body version that costs ~1k€ is enough. I have no idea how much people would actually pay for...

    Intake manifold fitment

So, I just purchased my first mopar with small block 408 stroker a while ago, and have been thinking about EFI conversion. Currently it has 2x 450 Holleys on top of a tunnel ram connected to some Edelbrock heads. I know that there's a Sniper EFI kit with dual throttle bodies, but that seems...
