    replacement harness question

i hear you carnut, looked at how much it would cost to buy the three or so kits it would take to rewire my whole car and it blew me away. the description on the ez kit sounds like they use some durable stuff and i'm looking at the one with all the extra circuits and fuses so i can add all those...

    Bulkhead Connector Help

its a 67 Dart. after thinking about it for a couple days i realized something, I'm not exactly sure why I need a disconnect, I'm not going to be doing body swaps every other week or anything crazy where I would need to section off my electrical, so unless someone on here knows of a good reason...

So what prompted you to choose your user name?

people give me all sorts of crap about how I need to get a new car "buy a Honda cause they last forever and get good mileage" when I'm feeling too polite to tell them to eff off, I tell them... hey, it still runs.

    Bulkhead Connector Help

i'll see if i can pull it off iggy, but the foam/rubber crap that holds all the connectors separate is completely rotted out to, i think some of the circuits are getting close enough to touch or arc and its making everything that uses power act up and/or die unexpectedly.

They sell replacement gaskets and the plugs that plug into the unit, but not the actual unit that sits in the firewall.

    Bulkhead Connector Help

Finally chased all the gremlins in my electrical system to an almost completely rotted and rusted firewall connector, anyone know someone who makes a replacement? Found all sorts of connectors online, but if I could find one that matches the original, or is even a similar shape and size, that'd...

    400 HP possible?

Well DarTT, it's always bothered me that with all the displacement the old mopar engines have, they make such little HP compared to the new engines. I have zero turbo experience, but if I can have my daily driver putting down anything over 350 HP with my original /6 under the hood, I'm ready to...

    400 HP possible?

Keep us posted on what setup you end up with and how it runs, I have a 225 dart and I've been looking at V8's cause of the power potential, but if you can get 400HP in a slant and still have it running off pump gas and use it on more then just the weekends, I might just bring that slant into the...

    Just Wondering

I built my current slant 6 around a block I picked up for free form a guy who got himself a dual slant 4 conversion. He told me he had the block bored 30 over. What would that bring my displacement up to? It was a 225.

    Chevy Cobalt

Good friend of mine has a turbo SS Cobalt and i've driven it around a bit. This thing is wicked. I looked at the Caliber SRT and the damn thing is ugly and slower. I'm a mopar guy to the bone, but if dodge cant make a good looking car in the lower price range (cause as mush as i want that srt8...

    carb problems?

The stalling out whenever you move the throttle position sounds like an accelerator pump. If the engine doesnt get that extra fuel at low revs when the throttle opens, it leans out and stalls, at high speeds momentum helps it along until the jets catch up to the new mixture. Still, check some of...

Need Info on slant 6 to V8 swap

I've looked into converting my /6 for years. General consensus is that there's a small enough weight difference between the small block 8 and the completely over engineered /6 to where torsion bars and brakes should be fine. It comes down to the handling, if you're looking to go through the...

    I Don't Know????

Calm down, there's a**holes everywhere, if you think giving up an almost lifelong relationship with mopar is gonna help you, you're gonna feel real stupid when you're sitting on the side of the road with a busted ford after leaving a meet early cause your realized half the guys there were...

Small Ball Joint Upper Control Arm Needed

Had a complete failure of the upper ball joint on the driver's side. Upper control arm and spindle assembly ruined. I know people are ripping these out left and right for the bigger sized ones that'll hold discs. if you have them sitting around, I could sure use them.

    Just Wondering, Does anyone know...

Thanks guys, gonna go with 3000 as a nice round number. especially considering the semi stripped down state of the car, its probably pretty accurate (especially with the lack of any extra weight from fuel, cant' afford to have the tank more then half full more then half the time) haha

    Just Wondering, Does anyone know...

how much a Dart weighs? If you want specifics, its a 67 Dart Gt, slant 6 225. no A/C, no power brakes, 9in drums, no power steering. Basically it's a heater delete away from a factory drag car. haha

How much trouble will it be to rebuild the front end?!

I need to get in on this thread. fredsmedina- i'm feeling your pain, i have a 67 Dart that needs a front end rebuild to, so all of this discussion is great, I was dead set on the poly bushings to, thinking they were worlds better now it seems rubber is cheaper and in some cases preferred. Also...

    Complete Front End Rebuild

Thanks Duster, that's definitely a lt cheaper then the PST kit, and its only missing a few components I could probably pick up for not too much. Only question I have now is, what, if any, difference is there between the regular poly bushings and the poly/graphite ones? Is it just a marketing...

    Please Help!

Thanks guys, I actually got lucky and a friend of a friend who's heavy into mountain biking took one look at my snapped cable and figured it out. Apparently high end mountain bikes come with some pretty beefy, high strength rear brake cables. Luckily I hadn't removed the entire throttle cable...
