Yah I know, by now he probably fixed it . I found it interesting that nobody said anything about adjusting the brakes as the first place to start .

10 minutes of driving and the brakes are wonky… sounds like the shoes are dragging. When cold how much effort does it take to turn the wheel when it’s jacked off the ground? It should only have a slight drag when the shoes are adjusted properly and the drums are round .

In case the O.P. Hasn’t figured it out by now … The hood trim is ‘66 Dart only. The trim that curves down to the tail light fits’63 - ‘66 Darts only and there are left and right trim.

The attention to detail to all the components , the finish work ... absolutely as close to perfect as one can get ! My hats of to you sir ... Take a bow :)

So the O.P. has a '63 dart and wants to put a V8 in it , well it can be done after the firewall and windshield wiper motor and linkages are changed to '64 -'66 then there will be room for the distributor to clear the firewall without the cap being broken . Don't even think of taking a hammer to...

Here are a couple of pictures of my '66 Dart GT linkage , note the '66 used a cable to operate the throttle , the rest of the linkage is what you should have on your '64 .

The reservoir is a bag type hanging over the side . You can see the hose attached to the cap of the bag and the two hooks that support the bag . Its a 65 thing , 66 used a plastic bottle on top and the pump mounted over the side .

Before it goes cut the center of the firewall out for Dne’ she is doing a v8 swap into her ‘63 and needs the area around the wiper motor and distributor recess from a ‘64-‘66 . A rectangular cut from the pinch weld at the top down to the pinch weld on the trans tunnel would do it .

Yep we’re home now. No trips planned until May at this time. Now I’ll have time to get back to my Dart project I want it done by March and I have been told that the bench and counter in the Airstream have to be done by end of April .

Looking at the cam gear the timing chain may have jumped and the result could be some bent valves . If that is the case you might consider a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads . Here is a picture of the 64-66 under dash , firewall and wiper motor bracket .
