+1 with what A/J has said. You need a fairly deep set of gears and a fairly high stall converter to get the slant moving out of the hole. It's best to get a converter from a company like Edge or PTC to where you can specify to them that the converter will be for a 6 cylinder engine. Buying an...

    RoadRunner Dual point Distributor

Here was one of the pages I used when I did mine. It's pretty simplistic. GM HEI conversion (A 'How To') - DodgeTalk : Dodge Car Forums, Dodge Truck Forums and Ram Forums

+1 to the above regarding the electronic ignition. I wired the up HEI style ignition on my '65 Newport (uses a factory '73 electronic distributor )and it works a lot better than even the Mopar electronic setup. I wanted to do away with a ballast resistor. I ended up with a smoother running car...

    red line

A few years back, I was bracket racing a Duster with a 225. Bone stock bottom end and the only mods were an Offy intake, Holley 4412 2 barrel and Mopar 6x1 header. I turned it 5500 pretty regularly but it quit making power much sooner. Basically just to see what it could take. That particular...

    RoadRunner Dual point Distributor

One thing to note on starters is that one from the 90s Ram's will work, however on a big block such as my 400, I did have to grind away a portion (very small) from the back side of the starter to make it fit more flush with the side of the block. I asked for a starter from a 1994 Dodge Ram 5.2...

    Clifford or Offy intake

Neither one is really better than the other, it's just a matter of which is better for your purpose. For a street car, the Offenhauser is just fine. The Clifford pulls better at higher rpm's. This is why you will notice that a lot of the heavy hitting slant racers run the Clifford. I also had...

63-66 Dodge Dart trunk lid interchange?

I know '63-66 Darts have different tail lights but I wonder if a '66 trunk lid will work on '65? The overall shape looks similar. I'm not worried about correctness or tail lights. I'm building a '65 Dart into a drag car and notice that vfn fiberglass carries a lid for a '66 Dart.

    Factory 3 speed Demon 340

I own a 1972 340 Demon 3 speed car. I think there were 1,465 340 3 speed Demons made in 1972. It is a very rough car needing a complete restoration (rusty and 340 long gone) and needs everything. It's an FE5 rallye red car with black vinyl top and side stripes/factory snorkel style scoop. Basic...

    First 1970 Ebody Hemi Cuda - $3,200,000

I'm no expert but own a '70 Challenger as well. I'm guessing the Cuda could be had either way? I know the rallye dash was optional on the TA's because they were designed off the base model. The rallye dash is standard on 1970 Challenger R/T's. Wasn't sure on 1970 Cuda's.

It appears that it has the standard dash. Seems to me like a Hemi Cuda would have a dash with the tachometer. Strange to me...

[SOLD] 8.75 rear for slant 6 4bbl intake (North Carolina )

I have an 8.75 housing and axles under a '72 Demon 340. The rear will need restoring of course. I have a 742 housing with 2.76 gears if wanted that I can throw in. I'm looking to swap for a 4 barrel intake for a slant six. Weiand, Clifford or Offenhauser?? Looking to do a swap in North...
