Ahah! So I put the seats on backwards, i have the latches you posted but the part on the seat back is missing. I guess I'll start looking in the junkyards.

Im glad you posted that, thats what i have, and there is a screw with something like a spring around it coming out of the bottom of the seat back. When the spring hits the metal latch you posted it stops the seat from going back any more but not forward.

I bought some bucket seats off ebay a month or two ago looks like early 71, pretty solid, no tears nice tracks but there are no hinges to lock the seat backs in place. Now i understand this could be dangerous to drive with so I need to find some hinges before i put them in, any idea if later...
