    Correct 340 Engine?

Thanks guys for keeping me sane...It's got J heads. The engine assembly date code on the front of the block looks like it decodes to 10-4-1970 which makes sense as the door tag says the car was assembled 10-1970....car sequence = 166959 so I guess that's early production 1971? It's an oily pig...

    Correct 340 Engine?

You guys always seem to respond quickly to posts so I've got another. I've got a 1971 Demon 340 project that has the #'s matching engine (according to the vin stamping on the block) What's screwy is the casting on the block is 1969? I would have expected a 1970 block - is this highly unusual...

Good deal - Really good deal?

Limelite70 - thanks for that info. I didn't get a chance to crawl around it as I only had a few minutes & it was pushed into a corner. I'm going back w/ a flashlight & hopefully jack it up. I'll assume the worst but hope the frame rails & torsion bar mounts are decent :)

Good deal - Really good deal?

Thanks guys for all the feedback..looks like a no-brainer. I'm going to head over there tonight & put a deposit down once I confirm it's a real deal. Couple more questions - is the VIN # on the body panels in the same places as my ebody? (Radiator support, inside trunk lip, up on cowl) He also...

Good deal - Really good deal?

Thanks for the quick feedback...I guess this confirms what I kind of thought. I'll probably hit the bank up till the 'Cuda sells to secure this one or he actually may hold it w/ a good deposit as he's just down the road.... I guess any 340 car is gold these days!

Good deal - Really good deal?

I found a 1971 Dodge Demon 340 car (original sassy grass green) w/ numbers matching 340 motor/tranny/8.75 posi. Automatic (floor console) buckets & rally gauges/rims. The car is pretty much complete but needs quarter patches, trunk and some floor work. Some rust on roof & 1 side of trunk channel...
