Has Anyone Else Gotten Hooked on Engine Masters on MotorTrend?

I love it 10 ways from Sunday, especially since Steve Dulcich is a MOPAR guy through and through, a lot of our engines are featured. Even when not, the content is still educational and interesting. My favorite by far is dyno testing the motor with a really nice set of headers on it, and then...

Value of Stock vs. Modified to Increase Driveability

Casey you bring up a great point. What will happen 5-10 or even 20 years from now. I had read that 55-57 Chevies are expected to start dropping in value like a stone going forward. I can see it, todays youth don't care anything about those cars. Even watching the VinWiki channel on youtube...

Value of Stock vs. Modified to Increase Driveability

thanks brother, that's exactly what I was looking for. If it was a 340 car that might be a different story, so I guess when we put to bed the idea that I'm ruining or degrading value by making mods, the sky is the limit and we're really doing it for our own enjoyment. I appreciate it. On a...

Value of Stock vs. Modified to Increase Driveability

So I'm starting to help my brother with his project which is a 68 Barracuda convertible 318 2bbl, orange with a white top and white interior. It's rough in places (no trunk floor and needs quarters), and we've been talking about how modifications effect the value. For example, it has 10 inch...

I've watched this 10 times and I still don't know what happened.....

I feel so bad for this guy.....but I can't understand what could have happened to result in the entire rear end coming out......go to 2:25 of the video to see what I'm talking about.....I would have crapped my pants for sure if I was driving the car.....

Need Help/Advice on Caravan 2.4 Timing Belt Please

You completely cleared it up for me brother. My malfunction was the old way of thinking where the crank is attached to the valves by pushrods, so I now understand if I have the cam sprockets lined up correctly, and the crank gear lined up with the mark on the block, I can't blow this unless I...

Need Help/Advice on Caravan 2.4 Timing Belt Please

Thanks Dan, I've reviewed the online videos and have a service manual. I'm clear on the alignment of the cam sprockets, what I'm worried about is that when I have those aligned, is it possible the crank gear is not always at TDC so to speak every time it's marks line up.

Need Help/Advice on Caravan 2.4 Timing Belt Please

So I did a semi-stupid thing and bought a non running 07 Caravan with 112k. I assumed it was the timing belt, and although I haven't done one before, it didn't seem beyond me. Start taking it apart, and come to find the previous owner had taken off the crank pulley, lower timing cover, and the...

Best Performance Upgrades for Little Money - Here's My Vote

Low budget seems to mean a lot of different things to many people. I saw a story one day on how to build a low budget stroker motor. It was 5 grand. Maybe I'm just cheap, but I believe you don't have to spend a ton of money to improve performance and driveability. I'm fortunate enough to be...

The Best Kept Secret in Moparland

My bad brother.....it was Mopar muscle magazine..heres the link to the article. I fall on the FMJ side of this based on the countless positive experiences of those that have done it on this site, and that I've heard very little from anyone that says they had a bad experience. I do recognize...

The Best Kept Secret in Moparland

I understand that although it bolts in, the housing (and by extension the track) is a tad wider than the A-body, so the axles would not be the same length. That swap is perfect for someone needing to upgrade to the big bolt pattern though. The width difference is so minimal it shouldn't cause...

The Best Kept Secret in Moparland

Talking to an old timer one day a few years ago, he started talking about the best kept secrets for guys with Mopars. I can only recall a portion of what he said, but it got me thinking.....what else is out there that folks don't know about. Here's my short list: 1. The best kept secret of...

friend trying to rip me off .......

The two things that are time consuming are rebuilding the calipers if he did that, and pressing the studs out of the rotor hub so they could be pressed into the new rotor. Keep in mind they are held together by the studs, and the rotors do not come with a new hub. That's an awful lot of...
