Max overbore for LA 340 block? .060" too much??

That W2 motor makes me drool. What headers do you have in the images?? I would like to run large tube headers for my stroker build, but most that I have seen have the drivers' side #1 primary drop straight down, which won't work with the AlterKtion rails. Yours sweep back towards the firewall...

Max overbore for LA 340 block? .060" too much??

............Unfortunately in the end the donor 340 block had cracks in two cylinders so it never made it to the sonic check. :angry7: Looks like I'll be using a 360 block for the stroker project instead, but obviously the same tools/principles apply.:supz: Cheers!

422 stroker, Windage tray or Crank Scraper???

Yeah baby! That's my 65 Barracuda and my friend's 63 Valiant at the bottom of the Mopar page................glad Ishihara/Johnson used the photos (4 years ago)! I'll be looking at another set potentially with my next motor (they show that they do stroker combo's now as well). It will depend on...

Max overbore for LA 340 block? .060" too much??

Its a 72 340 block, and yes a sonic check will be performed before I scuttle the block. I'm just trying to decide if I want to use it for my stroker project or acquire a 360 core from a friend. The 4.10 bore opens up some pretty ridiculous displacement combos, and yes they are tempting. I just...

    Roller Lifters ASAP!

Hughes set is also $350 versus Comps $550 for the set of "retro rollers" for LA motors. I'm running Comps in my 360 currently and had no clearance issues. I will be looking closely at a set of the Hughes rollers for my next build. I'm also watching that Mopar Muscle article on that 427...

Max overbore for LA 340 block? .060" too much??

I've never been a fan of running more than a .030" overbore on anything, anybody else feel nervous about a .060" overbore on a small block Mopar? Especially if it's stroked???

360 Back from the Machine Shop

That's about what I figured, and yes the RPM range looks very much in line with the way my 360 runs with the 1.5 rockers. I too have found that it will happily pull past 6000, but make it a point to shift anyway as I have no desire to unecessarily abuse the bottom end. Thanks for the input! I...

360 Back from the Machine Shop

So how does it run with the 1.6 rockers? I have almost the same setup with my 360 and it's XE268 with the 1.5 units, and was considering doing the swap. But I was curious about what it does to your power band: where does does your 360 "wake up"? Thanks!

    360 hp question

Probably low-balling but close. I am running almost an identical setup in my 3200# 65 Barracuda. Only differences are CompCams XE268, windage tray and MP electronic ignition. I run sub 5 second 0-60 times with traction problems, and high 12's/low 13's on street tires depending on how "off" I am...
