    Can anyone identify these heads?

I should clarify I'll be buying used. I wonder if RA has the price dropped to move them.

    Can anyone identify these heads?

For $150 I think it's worth the risk, even if they aren't real EQ heads, I can use them to replace the heads on the magnum that I'm sure are probably cracked. I can always clean the ports up a little, smooth out the casting. For an almost new head, I don't think I can really lose.

    Can anyone identify these heads?

I was aware, but these will go on a magnum 360. I found a complete donor vehicle with a running 360 and 46rh but I just wanted to make sure that I was looking at an EQ head. If it is, we have a source for these bad boys that's 100 bucks cheaper than anywhere else on the internet. I just...

    Can anyone identify these heads?

I was on my local marketplace and noticed these heads. They don't look like stock remans, or at least none that I've ever seen, but they do look an awful lot like engine quest heads, because they have a very similar chamber from pics I've seen. The brand is enginetech, but I think they might...

    cheap heads-free 340 heads on a 360

Converter is definitely first on the list. And I just wanted to see if I could get any sort of budget build out of what I had.

    cheap heads-free 340 heads on a 360

Probably 15s as is, maybe 16s. The Suspension is pretty well set up for the amount of power it has, though.

    cheap heads-free 340 heads on a 360

I'll race it this season and maybe the next but if I have my way it won't be 360 OR auto for long. Thanks everyone. It may be slow for the noise it makes but it beats a Fox body.

    cheap heads-free 340 heads on a 360

It currently has the stock 360 heads on it.

    cheap heads-free 340 heads on a 360

I don't believe anything was done to the motor other than the cam. I don't think any of the internals were ever touched.

    cheap heads-free 340 heads on a 360

I have a set of 340 heads floating around one of the many barns here that are still in the plastic and have never been opened(bought from chrysler many years ago). After years of posting here, I finally have secured a drag car to race this coming summer. It has a 360 with a Stealth intake, 750...

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

Height of the KB is 1.810", the Sealed power is 1.579" heads around 72 cc (I think they're 340-X, haven't checked the casting) bore is .030 overbore, 3.940, I should think I'll probably be running a thin set, I believe either Felpro or Mr. Gasket sells one with .028" thickness, If I remember...

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

I was looking at the KB pistons, they're probably in the butter zone for compression but Summit is having a sale of Sealed Power 1.759 pistons for $53.99 :blob: . That's probably around 9:1, right?

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

Probably something along the lines of 3.27 or 3.73 (Ford 8.8 ).

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

Hmm, I'll have to go find that.

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

That's one of the reasons I'm looking for one. Everyone here had GM in the 60s and 70s. The Mopars were few and far between, and that's why parts are so damn expensive here.

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

If I can just get the investment to buy the 318 I'll be set. Let's hope this job pays off.

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

I have one on my chivlet daily driver 305. It bogs down and is hard to start in cold weather, but I really don't think they're THAT bad.

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

I'm looking at the Summit 272 cam. Only $60, so that looks good. The cheapest I found the 1.810 KB pistons was $335 for the pistons and the rings, which isn't bad, but I'm still looking for cheaper. I can probably also find a 600 Holley for not a lot, I'll have to ask around. All those 4 barrels...

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

Hmm, I think pistons are doable. Thanks all. 273's post placed an estimate way above mine. EDIT: Are there a cheaper alternative to the KB pistons? I'd have paid more for a set of those than I would for the engine itself.
  20. justthatguy

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

Oh, and I also need suggestions for a cheap 4 barrel. I think I can find a quadrajet locally pretty cheap, but suggestions are welcome.

    ANOTHER small block question(318)

So, I think I'm just going to stay with the slant in my Valiant for right now and work on a 318 on the side since those are pretty cheap here. What do you guys think a 318 with 340 heads, intake, and this cam http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-20-243-4/overview/make/dodge would make...

318 or 360? very low budget

I did plan on discs for it, and probably a newer power steering set up.
  23. justthatguy

318 or 360? very low budget

I have a 340 stock intake that I'm planning on using. The others look to be stock pieces from smog 360s, so they're probably useless. I have the drive shaft and radiator, and the engine mounts shouldn't be to hard to get.

318 or 360? very low budget

I might run one of the 727s with a manual valve body. I need to get the engine straight before I start on that though.

318 or 360? very low budget

It's currently a slant car, that met it's untimely end at my hands on the freeway in 110 degree heat(it broke and the /6 really isn't worth fixing). I planned on possibly dropping a 4 speed in it, as I was considering a street/track car, though I have 2 727s, a 904, and a 3 speed laying around...

318 or 360? very low budget

He has a poly 318 and a low mile slant sitting in the field, that may net enough for the block.

318 or 360? very low budget

Hey everyone, the other day while stumbling in the barns on my family's property, I came across the gold mine my dad built up of LA parts. I found a set of 340 heads(still in plastic!) and 5 or 6 360/340 intakes for 4 barrels. I wanted to put something a little hotter in my Valiant for a while...
