    try to check the coolant level to see if the motor uses any, i have seen head gaskets put on upside down causing coolant to seep into the oil, hopefuly this is not the case tho

    points and condensor are also cheap and itdoesn't hurt to have a spare, an easy way to set the gap is with a match book or about 3 sheet of paper, also i would check the spark plugs and plug wires,also it wouldn't hurt to double check the ignition timing

    could it be an issue with the voltage regulator not giving you enough juice, i know from experiance with ecu's on heavy equipment that if there is a slight change in voltage they won't work the way there supposed to, i have no clue about msd maybe this will help maybe not

    you just go opposite the rotaion of the distibuter to advance it,this holds true to any motor. a small block mopar has a clockwise rotation so you go counter clockwise to advance the timing however a big block is just the opposite

    I made a priming tool my self, i just took an allen wrench that matched the size of the oil pump drive shaft, cut the bend off of it and welded it to a piece of round stock that fitsin my cordless drill chuck. call me cheap but some times you gotta do what you gotta do
