    Traction Challenged

Thanks for all the feedback regarding my original question of spring relocation vs. offset shackles. I think that since a spring relocation would give me the most room for wider tires (between those two options), but also recognizing that I'm NOT a fabricator, I'm leaning toward a 3rd option...

    Traction Challenged

So I'm having doubts about being able to hook up at all on my '71 Scamp. The absolutely largest tire the rear wheel wells will accommodate is a 255, and I have a 408 smallblock with a big-*** turbo. Unfortunately, I've already done body and paint and don't really want to go back and do a...

    Offset Shackle Install Questions

I was going to do a spring relocation on the Scamp, but don't want to do the minitub. Next best option seems to be offset shackles to give me a little more room for bigger wheels. Anyone done this who can suggest best price source? Do I also need to buy front hanger offset brackets?

    Need Pitman Part # Help

I'm hoping someone here can help me. I need a new pitman arm for my '71 Scamp. I've got a 360 engine, manual steering, and the engine is on a /6 k-member with Shumacher mounts. Summit lists the manual pitman as moog part #k7101. Rock Auto says the correct pitman is k7074, but doesn't say...

Your opinions on the firmfeel suspension company?

I've got a stage 2 steering box in my '70 'cuda and its night-and-day better than stock power steering. I've also got their original prototype front sway bar in the 'cuda. When they came out with a new mounting provision, Dick called ME to offer one free of charge. Stand-up guy...

    Power steering pump rebuild

I just rebuilt my Saginaw pump last week. $20 rebuild kit from Kragen, and two hours to take it out of the car, rebuild it and put it back in. Based on your description of the leak, you wouldn't even need to rebuild the whole thing. Replace 5 or 6 seals/o-rings and you're good to go...

Viper Brakes and rebuilding the front end.

Regarding point #3, yes, the '73 up drum brake spindle uses the larger ball joint. I just added the Viper disc brake upgrade to my Scamp. As for point #5, I have a Firm Feel steering box in my big block 'Cuda, and it's night and day superior to standard Chrysler power steering. I used to be...

    a body ifs

Ifs? Ifs? Like, if my grandma had balls she'd be my grandpa? I've gotten so used to deciphering typos that it took me about two minutes to figure out that you're looking for an independent front suspension! #-o

What Lower Ball Joint Do I Need?

Hmmm...Well the Viper disc conversion definitely calls for the drum spindle. I'll have to measure to see how tall. Of course, the ball joints from Just Suspension aren't Moog parts. guess I'll call tomorrow to see what he says. Thanks, guys.

What Lower Ball Joint Do I Need?

I'm in the midst of the Mopar Action disc brake swap, but with the update for Viper calipers. This requires the use of '73 or later A-body drum brake spindles. Anyone got any idea what lower ball joints will fit? I'm using '75 Dart drum brake spindles. I ordered lower ball joints from Just...

    tie rod upgrade

Kudos to SilverFish for the part numbers. I just ordered mine from rockauto.com...4 tie rod ends plus shipping to CA for $82.33. I already ordered the sleeves from CAP Auto. I went to NAPA earlier this week looking for the ends and the parts guy said his book only showed these in centimeters.
