US Indy slots...man I love these wheels...

Back 'in the day' I ran them on a '70 Camaro and at one time on my '70 Roadrunner.

US Indy slots...man I love these wheels...

Those have always been one of my favorite wheel choices too. You don't see them that often anymore. I couldn't say for certain but the 8" width seems pretty wide for the front.

    Now it`s DUB...

    - To the original poster, - I think you've got a great looking Duster. I looked at the picture you have of the car with the ralley wheels that you had on it before switching to the 20s. My opinion is that the old wheels looked much better. I don't mean to discourage you, but you asked...

ok, heads spinning, just need a straight answer...

to measure backspace: the more the offset/backspace, the more the wheel will tuck inwards towards the suspension or away from the fender. I find the backspace measurement to be the most useful when determining fit. The offset is measured from the center of the rim and rims do not always...

ok, heads spinning, just need a straight answer...

The condition of your leaf springs, leaf spring bushings, whether or not you've got a rear sway bar, and how hard you corner will affect whether or not your tires would rub. The rear end is not fixed solid under the car and there will be movement.

ok, heads spinning, just need a straight answer...

If you've got a backspace of 6.38" it would only leave you .62" of tire clearance to the inner wheel well even if the tires had no bulge and you were using 1" spacers. That's cutting it pretty close. I'd say it's 'iffy' whether or not you'd experience tire rub when cornering. As far as...

ok, heads spinning, just need a straight answer...

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a 6.38" offset. I assume that is different than a 6.38" backspace. I would look for rims that have a 5" backspace if you've got 6" from the mounting surface to your inner wheel well. That will give you less than 1" of clearance when you take into...

ok, heads spinning, just need a straight answer...

Yes this is a definite MUST. I generally find about a half inch difference between left and right wheel wells.

ok, heads spinning, just need a straight answer...

Every now and then someone will pose similar questions. I always figure that you're best off doing some measurements if you want the correct answer. There are so many variables that it would be easy to give a spec that worked on another car that will not work on yours. I'm not criticizing...

    wheel stud problem...

If you don't own a press, there should be a machine shop or weld shop in your area that would do it. - Should cost next to nothing. The last time I tried to research stud knurl sizes, the general consensus I found was to have a hole that is about .003 undersized to get a good press fit. I...

Small and big bolt lug nut question

towards the rim. When I was young my dad had me change a tire on his El Camino. I put the lug nuts on backwards. He thought I was an idiot. The first time you do anything, you're bound to be an idiot though. - just realize that the taper is the seating surface and if you look closely at...
