The one with the PVC hole is for a 318. The one with the stove pipe is for a 318 or 340. In short, those are 318 valve covers.

Must be 1-21-71 because the casting number is for a 71. 12-1-71 would have been well into the 72 model year (different casting number).

My 340 also has a 67 casting date with the bolt on tab. I suspect a mid year revision causing the confusion.

Casting date on the R/Hand manifold looks like it would be correct for a mid 69. What's the casting date on the L/Hand manifold? That info may help the guys looking for correct casting dates.

Why? They should be the first mod on any abody. They will even make a sweet, stock, /6 a better car and if you plan on adding power, they are a must have.
