    Scarebird caliper install

I had to modify the calipers to fit my Dart. They hit without being modified. It just took a little time with a grinder to remove two small nubs on the calipers which are not needed on our cars. Other than that it was a pretty simple swap. I used a newer prop valve that I got from a member here.

    Changing Drums to Disc

I went with the Scarebird option and I am pleased with it. One thing I like is the availability of parts if I need them.

How do i get old brake fluid out of lines?

After you blow them out you can spray brake clean into the lines then blow it out again to get dirt and other crude out of the lines.

    So Scarebird it is!

That is true, but I am going to the machine shop anyway so I will let them do it. I am VERY good at breaking things so I see this as a way to insure that I don't break things that I need.

    So Scarebird it is!

So I finally got of my butt and started on this conversion. Master cylinder is removed and I have the brakes removed from the front. I have one side down to the bare spindle and test fitted one adapter, and it fit with no problem. I removed the wheel studs to install longer ones and also...

    So Scarebird it is!

It didn't take long to find the first problem. I tried mounting the calipers on the brackets and they do NOT fit properly. I will need to take a little bit off the edge of the caliper to take it fit the bracket. Not a big deal, but it is a pain in the butt!

    So Scarebird it is!

So I went ahead and bought the adapters from Scarebird to convert my 68 Dart to disc brakes. So far I have everything I need except for a new master cylinder. So now I need to get the rotors drilled for small bolt pattern and get at it. Let me know of any difficulties anyone had installing this...

    Wilwood master cylinder

I bought a master cylinder adapter from a member here and he asked what I was going to run for a master cylinder, and that got me thinking. Would I gain anything by running a wildwood master cylinder as compared to a mopar unit? Thanks for your input!

Up date on my brake problim

Just hang in there buddy, it WILL get better. Just take it one day at a time. I think the log book is a great idea for all of us as we all forget things and the log book would be a great reference for both us and future owners of our babies.
