points ignition? Just converted my 69 slant six to HEI style electronic ignition...works good and by passes the ballast resistor.

make sure the ground is well grounded. should be a strap from the motor to ground...firewall stole a pic from the 'net I have supplemented this with an additional ground and it usually solves the problem

So really you could cut the front PL wire and graft it on the rear TL wire with a crimp connector doing it the quick and easy way....

I vote for removing the ignition switch in this case. Anemergency situation would do the jumper.
