Here are some pictures I just took not sure what I’m looking for on the crank and it’s hard to look with it on the engine stand. Also a picture of the tag on the front of the motor.

Ok went out and looked in thru the spark plug holes and with my boroscope I only see two valve relieves. I will go back out and check the crank as listed above. planing on using a push button auto behind this motor.

Thanks but this motor has adjustable rockers, but would / could this be a commando motor how would I be able to tell?

Let me start with I just need a running motor to put in my 62 Valiant Wagon. And I just acquired a 273 motor which has a factory replacement tag from 69. But it has the 64/65 heads. is there anything special this block / head combo

Will this cam work with a 318 Hughes 555 intake 560 exhaust? that is really all I know?

The problem is Im running out of room, I have my 38 Pickup that I'm trying to install a 241 Hemi but I also have a 270 Hemi spare engine. I have the two 67 Barracudas, with engines for both and the extra parts for them. Lastly I have my 1962 Valiant Wagon, Slant six with a ton of spare / parts...

Hello Lawrence, I still have the toad, I have been driving but I still need to do some body work and paint and that is on the back burner until I get me 67 Barracuda restored, Talk about along story on that one. But I also just picked up another 67 Barracuda as a parts car and this one manifold...

Is this something that someone might need? if not I will just scrape it?

Ok I looked at my heads today and I have J cast on one and an A cast on the other I have not gone and looked for the other numbers that have been talked about. I will do that tomorrow. What if anything does the A & J mean and does it matter if they are not the saame?

73dodgearcher, Please pardon my intrusion on your thread but I also have been trying to figure out the same question but for a 318? Also what is a quick way to know what valves aare installed in a head?

Sirland67, All you would have to do is pull your intake and you should be able to tell right off.

Good evening Dave, Yes it was I was out there yesterday helping a buddy find some stuff for his Ferd and of course I just had to venture over that way. I was going to go back today but I ended up going and picking up a 67 Barracuda that I found for dirt cheap price.

I have been out pulling home another Barracuda, I will go and try and get that motor tomorrow. from what I remember the lifter holder was the second one in the pictures. The P-N-P charges 165.00 for engines and it is completed less the intake. The rockers did not seem any differant the any...

it is a metal plate, what can you tell me about these motors, are they worth saving?

I was at the local pick a part yesterday and found a 318 in a 1980ish truck the intake was off and the block was clean to the piont of it look like to had jusst came from a machine shop. the question I have is that it had a metal plate which ran the length of the block and looked like it held...
