OK here is an update, I put everything back together last night and it is still doing tthe same thing, I looked hard at the sterring wheel and the column I dont see anything that is touching when I place wheel on and the horn goes off. But I then placed the orgingal wheel on it and the horn...

Redfish, I can only say that the screw was what was on the lever when I took it apart, the nut I replaced due to the one that was with it would not hold the screw anymore. I replaced that after the horn issue. I will not rule it out - I have the orginal column at the house I will take it apart...

Thanks for all the help I will check all that this afternoon when I get home from work, and see how it goes. the column and wheel are from several cars not sure what years they are from. Also the circled area where we copper is where the retaining ring stops. I will get a better picture also...

I just installed my column and steering wheel and when I hooked up the Battery the horns goes off. I have taken off the horn button, disconnect the wire on the steering wheel and it still goes off. I finally had to remove the steering wheel to stop it from going off. This is on my 67...

I have a fully charged battery before I started, everything is grounded, I will check the voltage during cranking. I do know that with my switch on and I have 11 volts through out the system execept fo the distributor wires only have 7volts this is checked with just the switch on.

Here is the latest I have everything hooked up, but the spark at the plugs is weak at best. I.m not sure where to go from here dow do I check the electronic componets to make sure they are all in working order correctly. Any help would be great.
