i bet its running out of fuel too , one thing -- get under the car and inspect rubber fuel lines near the gas tank , also pull the pickup/sender out of the tank and clean the filter on the end

get a spool--they drive fine on the street. or a Dana and be done worrying. Ever. my 8.75 lasted about a month. It was a fresh rebuild--tore the spider gear out of it. saved up for a dana with spool---havent touched it/ looked at it in 3 years.

Be patient, save up some money , and all that labor time, and look around for a good USED pair of Edelbrock 84cc big block heads. They ARE out there . They will be much better all around than a 40 year old factory iron head ---even if ported. JUST MY OPINION !!

agree. my buddys 72 Cuda is a nice example of what the Eddy heads can do . 508ci with ported Rpm's went 9.20 ...... he went to alcohol and ported Victors and has been around 8.80 , this is on motor , it doesnt have any power adders.... The car is light but it sure does boogie :tonqe:

Ive never had a plastic line break or leak. Also have never had any track tech say anything about it .

See if you can borrow (or buy) a pair of slicks or ET streets / Hoosier quick time pro tires. id stay at 27" tall or less with that 3.23 rear. You should pick WAY up if you arent spinning the tires.

i wouldnt go bigger than that cam in a Stock 318 . maybe think about a rebuild and get the compression up to 10:1 or so im not a small block guy so i cant give a whole lot of advice i guess...... 8) Personally, i would go with a modern grind cam though.......

yes you can do it . i had less in my entire car when i first ran it 3 years ago . Of course that was with a lot of used parts , stock eddy rpm's , a P.O.S used TA converter i built the whole car /engine / paint , except for the 727 . it went 10.88 the 1st year i ran it , that...
