    72 340 oild filter adapter

I should have some of those fittings laying around if you need one. I use the 90' adapters so I have no use for them.

    273 heads on 318

This is what I am running in my dart. I took the 273 heads, ported, and gasket matched them. Had 1.88 and 1.60 valves put in them with a great valve job. Added the Edelbrock RPM springs. Had them milled just a little. Used the thin MrGasket head gaskets. Put them on a freshened up 1971 318...

    Whats some 318 parts worth

I gave $100 shipped (I think)for a perfect std std 273 steel crank to use in a 318. So I would think about the same if you can find some one really wanting one. If you were closer I would probably want it. LOL As for the heads not much. If they are the closed chamber heads, I think 68...

    Torker Intake

The Tarantula (also known as the TM-5) came out in 1971 and is a great intake! The original Torker was just a shorter version of the TM-5 for a lower RPM range. The Tarantula is the first really tested Edelbrock intake for the SB mopar. It was tested and designed to prevent "reversion" which...

    Oil Pump Gasket?

I have never used one on a SB Mopar. I have yet to tear down a factory engine that had one. I figure it is one less gasket to blow out. If the sealing surface has looked iffy, in the past I have used a polishing stone on it to smooth it out. Yea stupid me used the dam end seals in my new...

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

That is what my ports averaged on the one I am running now (1.955 X 1.05 and carb hight 4.335 front and 5.45 rear). Bigger than the average 318 but still not 340 size. I held a 340 Fellpro gasket over the ports and if I were to open it up to the 340 size it would be what I would conceder...

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

    Thermostat Housing Leak

Yea I was about to go that route, But was given pointers on hear and now no leaks at all with the chrome housing. Sanded it flat( that really took some doing!) and sealed the gasket on both sides with the "Right Stuff" and no leaks what so ever in over two weeks, and two road trips in to car...

    72 340 electronic ignition

I have a friend that has a 1968 427 Corvette. Never would run quite right. Had a Pertronix conversion in the original points distributor. Well I talked him into changing it over to an HEI, as he can pit it back in an hour or so to retain it's value. Well to make a long story short it runs...

    273 head options

I basically did the same thing you are but with a 1972 318. I went with 1966 273 heads. Home port and gasket match job. Had the shop open them up for 1.88 and 1.60 valves, mill them, and install Edelbrock springs. Thin Mr Gasket head gaskets. Comp cams 223 cam. Nice old NOS LD4B intake (I...

Valve oiling, how much should there be???????

Just put on a new set of Hughes Engines grooved rocker shafts. And boy are they nice!! Not cheep but worth every penny. Oiling is improved. And the quality is great. For any one wanting new shafts for 273 or 340 adjustable rockers I recommend them!

    Oil filter question

If you need one send me a PM. I think I have 5 or 6 of them, and I never use them. My car needs the 90' adapter so they are not doing me any good.

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

Ha, Good to know. I wonder what the deference is between the D4B and the LD4, as the LD4 also had the early bolt pattern, then came the LD4B with the currant pattern. I wonder what a D4B looks like?
  23. 604

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

I could be wrong, but the think the D4B was the two 4bbl intake, and the LD4 was the single for the old bolt angle. I have been contemplating a Weiand Stealth, as they look identical to the LD4B. They have the extra meat around the bottom of the port so you can open them up. And I could just...

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

I won't run a LD340, as like you said it did not come out till 67 or so. To late for my car. If I can find one of the LD4B's with the bigger ports I can remove the "B" and not one will be the wiser. Running a LD4B on my 318 with 273 heads right now.

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

Simple, I am trying to build a period correct 1965 Dart race car. Therefore I would like to run an intake that could have been produced in 65 or 66. The engine I just built for it has an LD4B on it right now.

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

Let me know. I checked mine before I put it on my new engine and they were only 1.955 X 1.05 And not much meet left at the bottom to open it up.

Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

I have read some were that Edelbrock made some LD4B intakes with 340 size ports. Has any one ever run across one? Was told they were made before the LD340 came out. Kind of like a stop gap. Sure would like to find one for my next build if they do exist.
