I really like the Rustoleum engine paints. I use the heck out of there semi gloss black. But when it cam time to paint my engine I bought the real Mopar red engine paint. Went on great and is holding up great!

That is what my ports averaged on the one I am running now (1.955 X 1.05 and carb hight 4.335 front and 5.45 rear). Bigger than the average 318 but still not 340 size. I held a 340 Fellpro gasket over the ports and if I were to open it up to the 340 size it would be what I would conceder...

Yea I was about to go that route, But was given pointers on hear and now no leaks at all with the chrome housing. Sanded it flat( that really took some doing!) and sealed the gasket on both sides with the "Right Stuff" and no leaks what so ever in over two weeks, and two road trips in to car...

Just put on a new set of Hughes Engines grooved rocker shafts. And boy are they nice!! Not cheep but worth every penny. Oiling is improved. And the quality is great. For any one wanting new shafts for 273 or 340 adjustable rockers I recommend them!

I won't run a LD340, as like you said it did not come out till 67 or so. To late for my car. If I can find one of the LD4B's with the bigger ports I can remove the "B" and not one will be the wiser. Running a LD4B on my 318 with 273 heads right now.

Simple, I am trying to build a period correct 1965 Dart race car. Therefore I would like to run an intake that could have been produced in 65 or 66. The engine I just built for it has an LD4B on it right now.

I have read some were that Edelbrock made some LD4B intakes with 340 size ports. Has any one ever run across one? Was told they were made before the LD340 came out. Kind of like a stop gap. Sure would like to find one for my next build if they do exist.
