A kid I knew, a sophomore at the time, had just gotten a 67 chevelle malibu from his parents that was tubbed, 4 link, caged, professionally restored, and a "professionally" built 327 and was braggin on it pretty good. 19mpg 66 Vali w/318

HOOOHGF, Wow! That with a 2bbl? The worn out 273 2bbl it replaced would only get 16mpg at best on the highway. That old 650 has smaller primaries than the 2bbl so I'm sure it helps a little.

    19mpg 66 Vali w/318

Oh, sorry, forgot that. 3.23's. I'll have to go look at the tire size. Carb is an old Holley 6210-3 650 spread bore dp. 64prim/87sec. edit. Tires are 215/70R/14

Colorado Springs is at a little over 6000ft above sea level. Pueblo, where the track is, is around 4800 ft above sea level. So the amount of decent over 53 mi = 1200 ft. lol Unless you're being serious....Manual disc brakes up front, 9" drum in back. :)

Any Interest in Aluminum Racing/Street Components?

Didnt think about seal boxes. That might get messy though with the different intakes, hoods, and carb selection. lol You'd prob have to glue the aluminum quarters to existing steel, unless you're using dezuze fasteners or something.
