    Early A Spitfire headers!

They won't work on your car. Send them to me!

    Hooker headers fit ?

I have Hookers on my 74 Duster, but they have some slip-fit joints on them. I doubt those will fit.

    What headers will fit???

If the Doug's didn't fit, I doubt the TTi's will.

    dougs or tti headers

I got mine from Summit, and was able to stack a discount on top of a sale on top of another discount, so I think I ended up paying around $450 for a set of the coated ones, which is less than the uncoated ones normally go for.

    dougs or tti headers

Doug's fit just fine on my Duster. TTi's are supposed to fit well also. TTi has the stepped primary tubes on some models. I took the Doug's off my Duster because I went to bigger tubes, but I got the 1/8 mile times in my sig with them on it. Thinking about selling them, but not sure yet.

    d#$m TTI headers

I've had Doug's and now have Hooker's on mine. No problems installing either set. Didn't need to dimple anything. I did switch to manual steering before installing them, so that helped. Also have spool mounts.

    Dougs header question

Mine only seemed to get a good seal when I used the Dougs gaskets. I tried others, but they all leaked. I may have knocked a little off a couple of the welds.

    Dougs header question

Damn, that's not bad. Didn't know Autozone had them. I got mine at Summit on sale with an additional discount, so I think they were about the same price.

    Dougs header question

Yes, I had to lift it up about an inch or 2. Seems like I put them in from the bottom. I have a Charlies oil pan, which sticks out a little more than a regular one, so it added a hair to the difficulty. Now that I think about it, maybe I only put the passenger side in from the bottom. I'd have...

    Dougs header question

Then Dougs will be perfect, and not hard to install. I have a mini started and manual steering, which made installation pretty easy. IIRC, you need a mini starter for them to fit. I didn't need to dent them or anything to get them to fit.

    Dougs header question

Gotta let it breathe! It made the numbers in my sig on the dyno with 1 7/8" Hookers (not mine), but I already had the Dougs, so I just ran them for a while. Trying to get under 7 in the 1/8.

    Dougs header question

The coating flaked on mine wherever oil or anything got on them. Not bad, but little spots. I'm probably going to be selling them because they were too small for my Duster, so I got some POS 1 7/8" Hookers. They are great for a hot-rod or street/strip car, but mine's kind of gone beyond that now.

    TTi ceramic coating warranty

That's pretty slick, but I'd be a little worried about the tire kicking something up and puncturing it back there behind the tire.
  14. 64physhy

    TTi ceramic coating warranty

The coating on my Doug's headers is doing that, but only where I got some oil on them during an oil change. They've been on it for about 2 years. If you get anything on them in the future (oil, anti-freeze, etc) make sure you get it thoroughly wiped off because I believe that it somehow...

    X pipe vs H pipe

Here's a good thread on that subject from when I asked this question a couple years ago. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=57237

Are Doug's headers worth it over my Summit headers?

No doubt. I think that's even a little less than I got mine for. When I got mine, PayPal was having some one day deal where they would discount paypal purchases, and Summit was having a sale. One was 10% and the other was 15%, so I got them 25% off.

Help! Headers 67 dart 340 brodix heads

Got it. I posted before I finished reading the info. TTi and Hedman both make good headers that will fit.

Help! Headers 67 dart 340 brodix heads

Well, I just found that some come drilled with standard SB Mopar pattern, so it depends on which version you have, B1 BA or B1 BA MC. If yours take a regular SB intake, then they are the B1 BA, if they have W5 or W7 intake, then they are the B1 BA MC.

Help! Headers 67 dart 340 brodix heads

From the info I found, the SB Brodix heads come un-drilled on the exhaust side so they can be drilled for headers for W2, W5, or W7. If yours are drilled with a W2 pattern, TTi makes a header that will fit. So does Hedman. Neither are cheap. You could also just get the ones you have fixed and...

    New Doug's Headers finally here!!!

Yes, you need a mini starter (the one pictured will work), and the 318 manifolds will bolt up to it. Those are some good street headers. There are plenty of threads on here explaining how to install them, and common issues others have had (myself included).

    Electric dump pipes

I've heard of some not lasting long. the electric motors don't like the exhaust heat. MadDart has them, but not sure what kind. As far as I know, he hasn't had problems.

    Dougs

Mine was like that at first, then I shimmed the PS pump on the 2 inboard bolts and it was a little better, about 1/8". When I put in new mounts and a different engine, I suddenly had almost 1/4"

    Spin Tech mufflers

I had a friend who had them on a Nova with a 383 stroker in it. They had a gurgling hollow drain pipe sound to them. They don't sound anything like Flowmasters in person. They are supposed to flow really good though.

    TTI-Doug Headers

I have Dougs on my '74 with P/S and a 904. I don't see why they wouldn't fit with a 727, especially since many people have.

Wow, those are expensive. I think perfweld is a member here on the forum.

    H-Pipe vs. X-Pipe vs. Straight-pipes

The exhaust pulses alternate from the left side to the right side alternately (as the cylinders fire). When you use an X-pipe, it creates a scavenging effect where the pulse from one side basically helps suck the upcoming pulse through the other side. Hope that makes sense, I'm sure someone...

Tired of header leaks , will these manifolds fit a

I tried some of the Cometic MLS gaskets and they sucked. Kind of made me a little gun shy of any solid (non-composite) type gaskets. I may give those Remflex ones a shot, though.

Tired of header leaks , will these manifolds fit a

I have Dougs and had no leaking problems for a long time, then all of the sudden, I keep blowing gaskets. Next set of gaskets I'm getting are the ones that come with the headers because they are about twice as thick as regular gaskets, and I'll run a small bead of the copper gasket sealer...

    TTI Now What

My Dougs were extremely close, like 1/16" from the power steering box. I shimmed the 2 inside pads of the PS box 1/8", which pushed it out a little, and then I had about 1/8" clearance. When I swapped the engine, I also put in new mounts, and now I have almost 1/4" of clearance.
  30. 64physhy

    what kind of mufflers?

Spintech's are good and loud. I think they are bit on the expensive side, though.
