Yea his 22 incher was a square top so it must have come from a later model.
I always heard the square tops are too tall to fit in early a's...maybe I will try it out.
hmm...
Anyone know if the 64-66 Dart 22" radiator was the same one used in the barracudas?
I met a fellow with an early dart, and he had a 22" in there and he said it came that way, yet the top tank was not round, it was square.
rickstershemi, your valiant has the 19 inch opening right? or did it have the 22 inch opening?
That champion piece looks perfect for my 65 w/318, as I dont want to cut the lower panel to fit a 22 incher in there.
That is interesting, as ive been reading a lot about how 50s to mid 60s radiators were built to use a 7lb cap,
The higher rated caps affect gaskets/plugs on ur engine as well...not just the radiator!
65 valiant radiator- 3 core 19 inch wide...got it repaired due to a small top tank leak
The shop insisted i should use a 7lb cap since my previous cap was 14
does this sound right?
i tried out the 7lb and it cools fine just wanted alls opinion
thanks
I dry fitted a 69 dart radiator in my 65 valiant and it fit like a glove
I dunno why everyone says 67-69 radiators are hard to fit in early a-bodies
Is it because the one I have might be original? Aftermarket ones might be taller in height?
