    To Re-torque or not

    I use felpro head gaskets for most of my builds and they are no re-torque gaskets, but if you have a leak where the oil feeds the rocker shafts, I don't know if a re-torque will solve it. Or is it leaking down from the valve covers?

    Oil pump change impossible on 65 Valiant 170

    when I had the /6 in mine it took about 1 hour to have it out, makes it much easier to do what you're doing and gives you an opportunity to clean it up & paint it.

    maybe tight valve guides? The exhaust valves run hotter than the intakes and if the guide is a little tight, the valve can stick. Just my 2c.

    Starting to work on the 65 dart

    Nice 65! Are you in the Denver area? Andrews really steered me right with the 904 parts and convertor I bought from him. I couldn't be happier with the trans. Good luck and have fun!

    rod bearing

    We do a lot of "in frame" overhauls on diesel engines. Usually, when the engine only has about 10,000 hours or so on it, you can replace all the liners/pistons, rod bearings and mains, as long as the crank looks good. Much cheaper/easier than pulling the engine out, especially when they build...

    latest problem

    Maybe your fuel filter is diry, sounds like you are starving for fuel at wide open throttle. Could be some dirt in the tank is making it's way into the filter.
