New leafs too high, how much will they settle?

Flip the front spring brackets to lower it about 1 inch, if they snag over time flip them back to the original location. This requires you to oval out 2 of the mounting holes. If you don't like that option either get lowering brackets or ESPO springs which in my experience do not snag.

Subframe connectors for a driver/cruiser, necessary to weld to floor?

Try and find a few spots to weld the connectors to the floor where its not going to cause and damage to the interior. Maybe slip a small plate under the carpet and wet it a bit to prevent burning. A few welds will make the chassis more "unitized".

ADDCO VS. PST Rear Sway Bar

The mounting point on the frame rail needs reinforcement. Sandwich a plate between the mounting bracket and frame rail (like a big rectangular washer) weld it on if you can. Without, over time with hard use the frame rail will get pushed in.

    Pump it Down

I have it on both my 66 cuda and 66 valiant. I can't remember how many cooper washers I used to space out the relief valve. I remember on the Saginaw pump they are easy to install so you can add and subtract washers until you get the feel desired. I liked the results along with adding a strut...

    Turning Radius

Like all above plus, some aftermarket Lower balls joints have a larger protruding section that limits turning, may have to grind a bit off? If this section hits first grind a little at a time and use the LBJ as the instead of jamming the steering box to its limits.

Anyone put a Grant Classic steering wheel into an early A ?

The Grant adapter is a pot metal POS that will strip out the 3 bolts for the horn . And worst mine slid down the splined joint too far and when the column nut gets tightened the horn ring will contact the blinker switch and the horn will sound sometimes when turning. I did not know the about...

Turn Signal Will Not Cancel In One Direction

I had the same experience with a replacement (cheap) turn signal switch. It turned out to be the prong the on the aftermarket steering wheel hub(Grant) was not quite long enough to contact the cancel cam of the turn signal switch. My solution was to JB weld a small dab to the wheel hub. The...

    Early A subframe connector question

I would use something a little smaller like 2 inch, 3 is a little overkill. And yes the braces may need to get trimmed. Cut them flush against the sub frame connector and weld them together. The more you can tie together the stiffer the chassis.

    Hydro dipping?

Thicker layers of paint tend to chip easier then thin ones. It has been my experience to thin the rustoleum and spray it. This seems to soak into the pores of the metal much better than a thick dipped part. Spray cans are not thinned enough, use a gun an mix it very watery.

Should I keep my power steering

First determine if something is wrong or worn or loose on all steering related parts. If your car has a saginaw PS pump, it can be shimmed to reduce pressure.

    Rear sway bar install

Yes reinforce the frame rail in this area as the added stress will sometimes cave in the frame rail or the square bolt holes will wallow out. Had it happen

    Front suspension rebuild ?

I remember that the disk ball bolts being slightly larger will not fit thru the drum ball joint holes.

    Front suspension rebuild ?

I think that the disk spindles have treads to accept the ball joint bolts which are slightly larger sized bolts for the disk spindle. I was in a bind once and put drum ball joints on a disk spindle using a nut on the spindle to accept the slightly smaller drum bolts. The bolt spacing is the...
