The upcoming wx this week is gonna be BRUTAL. Low single digits F for A HIGH for next few days, and some below zero F a little bit. There won't be any outdoor shooting, LOL

YUP I'm aware. I've been thinking towards better weather, and I'll have to sight in several rifles, as two are unknowns, and two more have recently installed scopes. So I've been looking towards a low cost but effective bench support. I went trolling the thrifts just today, went to...

No and it's snowing today, and gonna do more and get colder this week. Not likely going to happen for awhile. Last time I fired an 06 was one that belonged to a friend of mine's Dad in about '66-67, and I don't remember if the M1 Garands we fired in Boot camp in 68 were 7.62 NATO or .30-06

Tracking USPS Signature Delivery mail- WTF???

Wait until you screw with trying to get something from overseas shipped here, and the transition from overseas to US. Their tracking is a joke.

Yesterday I bought a Bushnell laser boresighter (about 40 bucks) and here is the "list" of ongoing scope conversions 1...Had earlier obtained cheap scope for the daisy Powerline, the boresighter will not fit as it's .22 and larter 2....Had bought Weaver mount for the factory drilled...

I already have an inexpensive scope mounted. Whatever I use, it needs to have eye correction/ focus (like a scope). Only way I could use iron sights anymore is to learn to shoot left handed.

If I could afford it and lived there, I would leave. I don't see these states turning around ANYTIME soon, and the whole country is in jeopardy in some ways. I paid 4 bills for the AR, and it's just like new. I didn't realize manufactured ones could be had this cheap. Done? I am...

The AR club, that is. I have been thinking of building 1 or 2 from so called "80% lowers" But I figured since I have no experience with an AR, I should AT LEAST have one made by someone as a starting point so I know what is "right" shall we say. For some reason I got a ?? up my...

    Poor self inflicted SOB.

Somewhere long about 1975, there was a girl in our town just barely or maybe barely not 18, has a 67 or so Chevelle. One day I encountered her and she wanted to know who could and what it would cost to put a front axle under her car I finally got out of her that she wanted to jack it...

Screw the gifts, whats for Christmas Breakfast??

My neighbors, who have pretty much adopted me, are us and they going up the big hill to the daughter's and her husband's new fancy castle (complete with gated 'hood!) for "breakfast." I actually batched up some waffles which don't look that bad (I ain't a chef) but taste pretty good...

    Need help !

I'd agree, poor ground at the bulbs, but just because the TS switch is new, does not mean "good." Old school flashers are current sensitive. This means that one bad bulb may cause the flasher to flash very slowly vs normal, or not at all. Also check the connectors in the system...

Just need to vent about US Bank.

Silly me. Years ago a guy gave me a check, and I don't remember, I think it was a bank draft AKA not a personal check. For some reason I guess I wanted CASH, because I wanted to make damn sure it was good, so I wandered downtown to cash it at U.S. Bank WHO IS THE bank that...

Efficiency....what methods do you use to make a job go easier?

I can't do that anymore. I've gotten so damn old that it just doesn't matter, and if I get too tricky about multi tasking I end up getting sidetracked. Just the other day I had to go in the house into the basement to get a tool, and grabbed something else that needed to go back down...

    Snowblower starter

The way that is built, it appears the brush holder can be installed before the rear cover. If not sometimes you can make yourself a "funnel" out of a soda can. Cut an appropriate piece, curl it around the commutator, and work it into the brushes. When you get them far enough in, you can...

    Snowblower starter

Agree. Does the rust shown cause drag on the armature? Get it free and cleaned up, a light amount of grease in the bushings, fine sandpaper the commutator, and find something fine like a exacto to clean out between the commutator segments and I bet it works fine. That really does...
