    Shank Mag Lug Nut Length?

Measure them, is the only way I know. I cannot imagine that a bit shorter will hurt, as long as they pilot. Make darn sure that they the wheels DO WANT shank type and not coned/ countersunk

Do Mopar, Ford and AMC 60s 70s BBP wheels interchange???

I once bought a junk A body that had ford wheels. On the rears, they were so tight I ended up plasma cutting the centers out Of course they were also rusted

Wheel studs and spacers with Bullitt rims

There are at least a couple different backspaces on those wheels. I don't remember anyone needing anywhere near that much

    American Muscle "Mustang" wheels

There are at least TWO DIFFERENT offset configurations for the Ford wheels. All you can do is measure them. I don't remember the years/ differences anymore. I used to be able to tell by looking at the valve stem positioning, "I think"

    Cragar Lug Nut Help

Frankly with all the nonsense about problems with wheels and lugs, it might be easier at this point to "find a neighbor with a lathe" and take a little bit off the end.

How do you polish steel wheel lips to shine like chrome?

I've never cared for the bright very bright "all chrome" Cragars. I kind of like those..............

I Won't Be Going Back to Factory Original Tires Any Time Soon

My 440-6 4 speed RR came with Polyglas F-70-14. As I recall the original owner claimed he ordered it with 15's, but the wheels did match the car, limelight. I could never get the things to hook at all when I drove it. At that time I bought it had alloy wheels and G60x15's on...

Safe to use Wheel Adapters 5 on 4" to 4.5"?

I have no use for most pass car adapters. I can still remember a couple incidents back in the 70's. Guy comes in with what was a nice 65 stang. Rear quarter is all torn off it was a mess. Wheel adapter. Guy lost a tire at the strip. Wheel adapter (Not sure they are even...

Duplex size shank nuts with open ends?

I don't know why you couldn't chuck 'em in a lathe or mill and "fix" them

    Wheel Bolt Patterns

At least slant cars with drum brakes were small pattern, I have a 74. I don't know for sure about V8's "I thought" I junked one that was 4.5"

Torq Thrust up front / Steelies out back

For some reason, that look, or "chromies" in the back, were "a thing." We are talkin 64--??68
  16. 67Dart273

I shouldn't have given that tire away, but I know where it is.

I probably would have done the same thing LOL
  17. 67Dart273

But I Would Have Sworn They Were Left Hand Threads

I told you above. All A bodies were small pattern if they had drum brakes, and large pattern 73/ after if they had optional disk brakes. Earlier cars with optional disk were small pattern
  18. 67Dart273

But I Would Have Sworn They Were Left Hand Threads

Not if it's a drum brake car. My 74 slant Scamp is a drum brake car, small pattern

    Balancing issue

"New" hasn't got a thing to do with anything. It's either the wheels or tires or both, and only way is to dismount and inspect them, and "balance" the wheel and see where it "sits"
  20. 67Dart273

    Balancing issue

I would be dismounting the wheel and tire and inspecting both (like a big gob of mud inside the tire) and then see if the wheel is unbalanced, if not replace the tire
  21. 67Dart273

    If you could only pick......

I like them both. What does NOT belong on these girls is eigh'heens. Or 'wenny's. Or 'wenny-oo's Or wenny'hors

    bias ply tire memories.

An annoying story from the old days In the early-mid 70's I came across "winter" still had the 70 RR, but the 440-6 was long gone and a 340 swapped in. I "scored" a pair of "sawdust" snow tires but they were bias, and the car had radials. I knew the warnings about mixing/ matching...

    bias ply tire memories.

An annoying story from the old days. NAS Miramar in the early 70's had 3 gates, and I mostly used either the main gate out onto highway 15, or the west or "back" gate out onto Miramar road. At the time and for some time after I'd bought the car it had G60X15 tires, and I was either...

Bullitt Wheels - How to open up bore?

I don't I think worries about "hub centric" are completely overblown. Most of my wheels from the 70's that I used were NOT hubcentric, most were aftermarket. I say take a die grinder and have at it That POS old landcruiser I had never knew what hubcentric was, and it...

Left vs right hand thread wheel studs.

Nonsense. In the same era when my Mopars had LH thread, none of the wheels ever came loose. Neither did any of the Chivvies or Ferds that had all right hand thread.
  27. 67Dart273

Can we talk about "center bore" for a minute?

I've used a similar argument. Many of the vehicles I've owned had "different" wheels and certainly were not "hub centric"

    snow plow tires

Where you are I bet snow is "different". Around here we tend to get a lot of heavy, warm, wet snow. It is a hell of a lot slicker than cold "corn" snow. You push a bunch into a pile and screw up just a little and end up with tires sitting on a slick wet packed icy mess. You...
