    butt welding exhaust system

Wow I wasn't criticizing any one and I am far from expert. Your right as purging for mild steel but stainless it is best way I have found. Basically everyone was discussing best way to butt weld pipe and I threw Tig into the mix. There is all kind of ways to join pipe from brazing or gas with...

    butt welding exhaust system

To really do nice butt welds it should be done with a Tig torch and backed purged with argon. But most don't have the welder or the expertise for this. Also very time consuming.

    Summit Electric Cutout Kits Beware!

Looks like 21/2" and 3" use same electric cutout just different Y pipe. That sure as hell won't work. The more I look the cutout flange is same size so should work. Seems like as said you should be able to flip it over. No?

    Header evac with mufflers

This won't work with full exhaust, designed for open headers. I would just run a pcv valve or run hoses from rocker covers to a vented puke can. Mount it on fire wall above rocker covers. Be sure your rockers have baffles to control the amount of oil puked out. Be sure to put a drain in bottom...

Summit headers and "half dummy" zoomie pipes

Well IMO you should buy some dumps for the zoomies and run pipes with mufflers out the back. That way you could have your cake and eat it too with just a push of a button.

    OBX Headers????????

Those look for a street rod. I don't think they will fit A body. For A body the collector needs to be towards the rear not dump in the middle.

    Ever had this happen? (pics)

Yea we did this a lot at 16. Blew a new muffler up and took it to the parts store I dealt with. Tried to tell him it was defective as it split in the seam. Just looked and shook his head gave me a new muffler and said don't bring it back again. No more of that crap. LOL

    collector hangs low

Hey don't worry they will self clearance the first speed bump you find. Full length headers and big blocks hang low. Be happy you have a Mopar and can get a little clearance cranking up torsion bars. If you had a big block Camaro you would be screwed. :sad5:

Worth it to put headers on a 318?

Headers are a pain in the *** blown gaskets, the cheaper ones hang real low and drag on speed bumps and you have problems with starter and center steering link. I would stay with stock for street use our look at shorty headers but don't cheep out or they will cause you real headache.

    Just installed tti headers !

You might be able to lay a piece of bar stock or thread all in slot on kframe before you slide motor mount in but 3/4" is gonna be tough may have to extend steel fork. After looking at pics I can see bar stock won't work because of spool won't clear. Looks like fork has to be extended.
