#2 1966 Barracuda Formula S first run havin Fun

70s Bonneville? It's maybe 2/3rds the size of one of those landyachts. Looks real nice, you did a good job on it.

Supercuda's on the way back...after18 years!

Chrysler had several different copper/bronze/gold colors that they offered in the late 60s. I had a 69 Dart I bought new and it was a gold color I liked a lot.

I too love the color, for some reason it causes me to have warm feelings for it.

The welding on the housing looks nice. Are those still the original axle tubes?

    65 Barracuda AWB Funny Car

There is a thread on here somewhere showing a member doing exactly what you're proposing to do. I believe he was building a 66 Barracuda. I believe the thread was titled Barracuda funny car. Also, diehard Mopar guy Steve Magnente has built several AWB cars, including early A bodies, and has...

    Frnknsteen's '67 Barracuda

Just read your whole thread, nice car you have there, glad to hear you're having fun with it, that's the way it's supposed to be. I'll bet a lot of the people on here can relate to your experiences on your project. I know I do, mentioning the sandblasting made me chuckle, incredible all the...

    65 Barracuda daily driver

FABO member Trailbeast offers a HEI conversion kit for $100 that works great, I put one on my car and am happy with it. You need a Chrysler electronic ignition distributor to go with it.

The mounts look good, you're getting there. Interesting idea on the exhaust manifold.

1967 Barracuda Formula S 383 daily driver build

Nice car! It looks like it cleaned up real well. Did you do anything to the rear of the car to get the 275/60-15 tires on there? I want to put some on my 67 Convertible, just wondering. Something you might consider doing right now since you're working on underhood wiring is to install a...

    1969 Dart Street/Strip (Re)Build

Sounds like you're luckin' out all the way around regarding the damage and getting it taken care of. 42 years ago on Christmas eve my 69 340 4sp. Dart was rear ended by a drunk in a Buick Electra. The surprising thing about it, considering the car that hit me, was that the rear of my car had...

    72 demon 340 resto

Where did you get the big blowup of the magazine cover with the Mr. Norms blower car on it? I recognize it because I have a copy of that mag. I also have a Norms Paxton setup that's going on my car late this year along with a 340 and a 4sp. Your car looks really sharp, you've done a nice...

    Finally got my M-Code Cuda

Cool project you're doing. Should be a lot of fun. After rebuilding the rear body structure back to stock dimensions are you going to be able to get enough tire on it to handle the power you're going to have, or you're not worried about it?

    4bt 72 Dart

It may be easier in the long run to cut off the frame mount and start over. When I put the 6bt in my van that's what I did, cut everything off the K member and started fabbing stuff that worked with the diesel mounts. Plus after looking at a couple of diesel pickups on the dealer lot I...

Not really a restoration, more building a sleeper - 71 Dart

Very nice car but a 4 dr is a sleeper.

    4bt 72 Dart

Cool swap, good luck with it. I like diesels too. About 20 years ago I swapped a 6bt into my 75 Dodge B300 van, took a little bit of modifying things but the end result was worth it. Made an excellent tow vehicle, would get 20+ mpg on the e-way at 70 mph. I'll be following this with interest.

The steel sleeve should go. Your new front spring eye bushing will have the steel outer sleeve, then rubber and the steel inner sleeve. It will probably have to be pressed in.

Thank you for posting the window install steps. One question, why did you pull out the adjuster screw?

    AlV 69 Dodge GTS project

I've been following your build from the beginning, it's looking real good. I'm also a big fan of blue cars. I have to install the door glass in my 67 cuda. I see from your pictures that you recently put the glass back in your car. I'm wondering if you have any tips or tricks you learned while...

    Biohazard

The posts on mine are mostly gone because of PO having at it, so epoxy it will be. Did you polish your lenses, and if so, what did you use? Your garage is looking good, I'll bet it feels good to be settling into some place that it sounds like you are happy with after all the moving around.

    Biohazard

I've been following this thread since the beginning and I must say that the level of attention given to every little piece of the car is incredible, although I realize that it's necessary to achieve a needed level of cleanliness it's still very impressive what you have done. You must have a lot...

    65 Dart gt

I went to autorama, I saw the car. WOW! I never looked in depth at this build thread until today, very impressive, but that's what it takes to be a ridler award contender. Made it into the great eight, but has some stiff competition.

    Biohazard

You sure have a nice, solid car there. Too bad you had this major mold problem to deal with. But it looks like you will have a virtually new car when you finish it. Your cruise control could have been a factory retrofit kit. I don't know if they ever offered one for that car, but they did offer...

    70 Swinger 340

Your car is looking real good. Love that color. I bought a 69 Swinger new and it was that color, only a 318 though, that's all they had left in Sept. when I got it. Never got tired of looking at it.

1969 swinger getting her back to life

Lookin' good! What you've done so far looks real good. I love 69 Darts too. I bought a gold Swinger 318, column shift auto, tan bench seat deluxe interior car new in Sept. 69, enjoyed it and learned a lot about working on cars as I did typical mods to it, 4bbl, cam, headers, duals, 8.75 suregrip...

''I'm going to fix it up someday'' The resurrection of a '74 Dart Sport......

Nice job on everything! Love these budget builds sourcing good used stuff off other cars. Should be a nice, fun daily driver. As for those crappy welds, quality control in the assembly plants back in the 70s was really poor. I bought a new Dodge van in 74 and assembly-wise it was a major piece...
