Recommend an AC system for my 68 Barracuda

That's strange, I have a friend of mine who said he installed VintageAir on his 67 barracuda. Don't think a 68 should be that different. You might want to give Vintage Air a call to be sure.

Heater Box Cable Clips - Screws?

When I pulled the heater box out of my 68 Barracuda with factory air, all three clips had the screws in them. When I put it back in the car I made sure I put all three screws back in.

    AC or No AC

When I built my 74 Scamp it to was a factory A/C car, and when I put everything together I changed all the O Rings to the green R134 friendly O Rings emptied the compressor of all the oil and filled with fresh oil. When it came time for the charge everything went well and it cooled just fine...

    AC or No AC

This 68 barracuda that I am building right now is a factory A/C car and I really did not want A/C. I was thinking about changing everything about it so it looked like a non factory A/C car, I even have a new non A/C rally dash bezel for it but I decided to keep it A/C. Everything under the hood...

Heater core re-cored? Or such thing as a universal one?

It might be worth a try, go to the Mancini Racing site (all MOPAR) and see if they have one. If not give them a call and they might be able to send you to the right company. I needed one for my 68 barracuda with factory AIR they had it and it fit real good, can't hurt. Bob

Installed Cold Case MOP755 in my 68 Dart

Thanks Ccas and yes the fittings are welded in the bottom of the tank, I just asked the wrong question. When I talked to Eric I should have explained myself better on what I was looking for (the adapters). If I can't find them locally I will order a set from Cold Case. Once again Thanks for your...

Installed Cold Case MOP755 in my 68 Dart

I just receive my Cold Case radiator the other day, part number MOP756A it's for my 1968 Barracuda 340/727. I opened the box and all looks well, I won't be installing it for a few more weeks though until after the engine compartment is painted and the drive train goes in. I dealt with Eric at...

    Ordered My C-C Radiator Today

Well I P.M.ed Ccas our vendor for Cold Case radiators, and he replied today. I also had a live chat with Eric at Cold Case and asked him about the no car shows in the spring sale. He took great care of me today and I am very happy that I decided to go with Cold Case. I ordered the MOP756A...

    Heater core cleaning?

I just went through this with my 68 Barracuda. My core had some scale on it, far less than your's does and yes it had a leak. I suggest that you take it to a radiator shop and have it professionally checked, believe me you only want to reinstall it one time. If it does have a leak they can...

    Heater core cleaning?

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but scale on the heater core generally means a leak. Bob

    1967/68 Barracuda A/C Hoses

Does anyone know if the factory A/C hoses and the factory A/C compressor from a 1967 Barracuda V8 (273) will fit a 1968 Barracuda V8 (340) Thanks Bob

    Cold-Case Review in a 66 Barracuda MOP751

That looks real nice. If you look at the factory fan shroud that is in my 66 Barracuda along with a factory radiator you will notice that there is a nice size gap between the shroud and the radiator, there is no modification, this is the way it fit's. I have seen other early A Bodies with the...

    Cold-Case Review in a 66 Barracuda MOP751

If Cold Case is willing to pay for shipping and return shipping ( I want it back ) I have my original OEM 1966 Barracuda radiator sitting in my garage. The side mounting bracket on one side is loose but it should not interfere with what you will need to get your measurements correct. You can...

Do all 67-69 small block Barracuda's run hot? Rant

Hey Larry, this might sound a little funny to you but go to your local auto parts store and buy a bottle of water wetter. My 66 Barracuda was running a little hot at idle and a friend of mine told me that he adds a bottle or two to every build. Guess what my Barracuda can sit there and idle for...

    A/C oil install question

I have drained the old oil out of the RV2 compressor and cleaned it out the best that I could. Not that I am going to try and charge it right now but I would like to add the ester oil so it is not dry when I start the car. Where is the best place to put in the oil and from reading looks like I...

    A/C O rings

I was wondering if there are O rings that are made just for A/C or can I just go up to the local hardware store and get an assortment of different size ones? I would like to replace all of them while I am hooking up these lines on this 74 Scamp. If they are A/C specific and anyone knows a place...

    A/C compressor

I have found a 1969 Chrysler Imperial with a big block in it. the air compressor pulley moves freely and the compressor it's self appears to be in good shape. My question is were all the air compressors the same for big block and small block? I am looking at this compressor to put on my 1974...

    1974 Scamp A/C compressor

There is a member here 71scamp78 that has a thread titled (ac under hood components) and in this thread he has a compressor for sale. He said it is from a 71 dart with a 318. My question, is this the same compressor that I need for my 1974 Scamp with a 318 also or will this not work? Thanks Bob
