I have drained the old oil out of the RV2 compressor and cleaned it out the best that I could. Not that I am going to try and charge it right now but I would like to add the ester oil so it is not dry when I start the car. Where is the best place to put in the oil and from reading looks like I need to put in between 8 and 10 ounces. Is it ok to put the oil in where the discharge hose hooks up to the top of the compressor or should it go in the little check plug hole on the passenger side of the compressor or does it matter.
Thanks for any info
Bob

Hi,

Put the oil in at the oil check plug on the passenger side of the compressor. That will put the oil directly into the compressor oil sump.

Right in the factory service manual. You can download them from MyMopar....free

"Back in my day" we actually had to buy them

Also worth a look is the MTSC tech stuff

If you know how to diddle the videos, you can download and save them. Notice there are videos and pdf's which go together

First, insure you are using the best oil. If your plan is to convert to R-134A, consider that it will be discontinued in a few years (already in many countries). Lookup PAO 68 oil (Hella, sold on ebay), since it is compatible with all refrigerants & oils and is claimed more efficient. Duracool sells a version of it ("Oil Chill").
