Which headers are tightest to the block?

TTIs fit like a glove when in and are tight to the block as stated...(so tight I can't even drop the oil pan)

    Break in with TTIs

Did ya ever think an exhaust could be such a pain!! Hi Bob, unless someone has completed that (swap) I would think your not going to get a correct answer. Could be trial & error. I'm sure the van's cross-over pipe not being an a-body; you might run you into a few lining up problems, Not really...

    Break in with TTIs

I guess 7Duster3 just wanted to know how many guys have "tried" the break-in with TTIs. With my luck...I would toast them. Perhaps a few guys have luck even if the TTI warrenty says break-in is a no-no. Again "to me" it would be like using a condom with a hole in it! "so just how lucky do ya...

    Break in with TTIs

Did you get your TTIs on as yet? In your last thread about your (TTIs) you were asking about installing problems! Although my motor was broken in prior to my TTI install... I hard from many it's a big "no-no" to try it!. For the cost of them, I don't think its a good idea to even think about it...

Driver Side TTI not wanting to fit...

Make sure your mounts are in good shape and engine is correctly in position. The drivers side is much harder to place. :read: I ended up pulling then dropping the motor in-between the tti's. I have the stock pan, however the pipe gets very close with little room to spare. (I even had to re-run...

    TTI & (Stock floor shifter)

I know I've been asking a lot of questions lately about the TTIs and have directions, but sometimes directions are not always 100% true. I have the stock floor shifter and read where it says the lower bell crank for the kickdown and stud must be shortened 3/4" and re-welded. Along with this...

    TTI guys

Thanks guys, Got this from TTI  You can lay the headers in the engine bay and lower the engine into position, then bolt the headers on. The torsion bars will prevent the assembly from being installed in one piece. Tube Technologies, Inc. (TTI) 1555 Consumer Circle Corona...

    TTI guys

Thanks, It's not a "new" motor so having to use old headers are not a flash up problem. I e-mailed TTI on this, however no return as yet.

    TTI guys

Have any of you "during a rebuild" just slowly lowered the motor between your TTI held in place on the fender wells rather then going from the bottom up? I can understand the directions of TTI if your just swapping out headers and yes...the bottom is the only way. I'm just not sure if I will be...

I don't have an answer for you...but if you have any tips...I'll take'em, mine will be here next week. My engine will be pulled, I wonder if I can lay them kinda in place then slowly lower the motor rather have the cars front end four feet in the air and have to put them in through the bottom...

    Opinions....best headers for '72 Duster

Hi Captian, all I can say is 80% of members would more then likely perfer TTI's. They are $$$. But after reading "all" the past threads over the past month the majority of members would want or approve of these headers. The good fit, tie rod ends don't go throw header pipes, their very long...

    Collector fange to H Pipe

Hi guys, I've looked about the threads but can't seem to find an answer on this one. Maybe one of you's that have installed SB TTI's can assist. For the last four years I've been running with the (Cheapy) headers, about 300.00 set and I can't remember who made them. I'm highly considering the...

    Crap...Now what?

360scamp, for years some guys have had to fine tuning headers by the odd ding to make them fit. Of course this is not good for exhaust and pressure issues. My first set I had to beat up pretty good so they would fit, then seven years later I didn't have to touch the new ones. I believe headers...

70dusta, :idea1: I didn't have a lot of cash on hand at the time. If you go to the sound bytes post (link below), I can give you an idea of sound with 2.5 pipes and glass packs. My crossover calm's the packs down some and I've never been pulled over. Not taking in the cost of the packs/headers...
